NBA 2K14 on the PS4 is truly shaping up to be something of epic proportion.



Notable NBA 2K14 Selling Points

• New Ecomotion Gameplay Engine
• Graphics are photo-realistic and downright scary
• Addition of MyGM which seems to be a VERY deep mode
• MyPlayer sees thousands of new cut-scenes/story lines

After all I have seen, this is as hyped as I have ever been for a sports game. I am actually very excited for MyGM (thanks to the impact of Owner-Player relations as discussed by the devs). I think people will be surprised with how deep/successful this mode can become. It doesn't sound like Madden's CCM, and I trust 2K to deliver on its promises.

I'm excited about it everything you mentioned above. Even though 2k14 on current gen is a complete game, I look at is as a rusted car that got a new paint job but the rust is still under it. They did a magnificent job polishing up the game but there were still some issues that never was resolved. I'm hoping this next gen doesn't give my hopes up

My most anticipated sports game ever was 2k11:
Legit Mj in an Nba game for the 1st time
The jordan challenge
The legends and classic teams
And a ton of announced (and mantained) improvements in gameplay, presentation, modes and features

I could def wait for a PS4 if 2k wasnt in the lineup of games on release day, but since it is 400+ dollars well spent in my opinion.

Let me put it this way....

I have tickets to the first Pelicans game tomorrow and I'm way more Hyped for a PS4 that's a little over two weeks away, than I am the real game tomorrow!

It's the only reason i'm getting a PS4, and i'm happy with that choice.

Same here. Although, after thinking about, I may end up getting one more game. Especially, if things like Custom Draft Classes are in and I have to wait a few weeks to start MyGM.

Mygm will end up with a lot of unfixed on-going bugs that hinders the experience overall, i'm assuming from my experiences.

That guy on the head of MyGm is not trustworthy and the weakest link between 2K Devs.

The sad thing is, the last time I even cared a football game was released was in 04 sigh.

But OT, This ranks pretty much up there with the likes of NBA Live 04/05 for me

Yeah, I know the "2K11 is the greatest" card gets played a lot on this forum but the hype for me was real that year for all the reasons you mentioned. I couldn't wrap my head around the idea of finally being able to see true classic teams come to fruition. There was just awesome falling from the sky that year.

For 2K14, I feel incredibly even-tempered. The graphics look neat, but I can't say that I'm experiencing a "gotta have it!" sense of emotion. NBA 2K and I aren't necessarily on the same terms as we have been for most of the eleven years for which I've been playing their franchise. At the moment, I have absolutely no drive to purchase a new $500 console for what I've seen from the next gen iteration of 2K14 thus far.

I am a little excited for nex gen, with seeing what more they can do with physics and AI and such, but the marketing here has been kind of weak IMO
