Did the improved AI result in lower scores? Was it harder to move the ball?

The run defense felt improved playing a game of 5 minutes per quarter. You have to be a bit more patient at running a using your blocking because the defense has improved all around. The A.I. resulted in lower scores if you know how to play the game, but if you are a newbie the game's a.i. will score on you. I got to play a whole game against the computer and then I was paired in a online game with one the guys that also attended this event. It had a similar feel, but I see great improvement down the line.

How can it be a port? I don't think you know your stuff. In the video it shows feet digging in the ground. But in the current gen these cats are skating on air.

I meant it felt like a port because it has a very similar feel as current gen. The ignite Engine allows the models to animate smoother.

Did you notice a difference in the pass rush? Was there less time in the pocket, did you have to step into the pocket to throw?

How was the commentary? Did it sound more authentic or the same, was there more depth as far as the commentary remembering things that happened during the games? Did you notice the players moving on the sidelines when you ran towards them or did they just stand there lifeless?

"In the past, we could only render 16 crowd characters on cards. Now they’ll be 3D, and we’re going to create crowds that have indiscernible patterns to where it feels like there are tens of thousands of people in the stands."

Well when we are dealing with OPINIONS the only thing that isn't true is you assuming your OPINION is more of a fact than what it is...Its just an opinion. Agree or disagree but either way there is no wrong or right.

I look at Madden and see a clear visual improvement...I look at 2k14 and see the same level of visual improvement. neither one are stunning but both are very good and what I expect for NG.

Animation wise I thought the NG Madden clip looked very promising and I was impressed with what I've seen. Unfortunately it seems the culture here is to come to the Madden Forum to bash Madden and make sure anyone who likes anything about the game is opposed. I realize the game needs much improvement but I'm convinced that half of the people complaining have no clue about the game, another portion are just hating because they are still mad 2K is gone and then there are some legit folks who don't like the game and have VALID complaints. I'm somewhere between Valid complaints but still able to enjoy the game while hoping for more improvements

I want improvements like the next man but most of the people here complaining are ironically complaining about many things that have zero to do with game play...or they have a beef with animations. hell, I have a beef with all sports games and their animations so at what point do we just try to enjoy the game and provide constructive criticism instead of what can almost be called a constant level of nitpicking and hatred.

I actually like this years Madden...I think its there best effort to date and while I expect a whole lot more I can recall the days when the game was unplayable with gimmicks like people stopping the run in Quarters D or being unable too stop the pass or QB's sprinting backwards 30 yards and completing passes, Nanos that required everyone to play the game from a Shotgun Formation, WR's playing RB or TE...I mean its going to take even more time to dial in better more refined gameplay and presentation...We all think we know what it takes but in reality most of us don't know jack.

look at this....now i dont care about small things usually but last gen in the crowd we had cutouts and at times just about 10 guys all doing the same thing.

Well this whole "crowd is alive" and whatnot is BS. Basicially EA is telling me they made about 10 fans again and just generated them throughout the stadium all each with animation. So your going to see the same guy doing the exact same thing. They couldnt take an hour or two more and add 20 more fans in doing there own animations? What a joke
I just circled the guys wearing 69 which are 7 in this small frame.

The pass rush is improved and I did not have much time to throw the ball when playing the game on All Madden. You have to step in your throws too get the right velocity and accuracy on it or it will be batted down or intercepted. There seemed to be some interaction between the players on the sideline, but I was not paying attention that much to it. The commentary is much improved and they have more dialogue for every team. I did not get to see the half time show because they wanted us to rush and only focus on playing the game in two different segments.

I could care less about crowds but if you call it out in your own blog then you better deliver.

JPF you compared a wiped camera shot (madden) to a game play screen (NBA2K) that is not a comparison. Feel free to capture any game play shot from the video posted and compare to prove your point.

Here's another screen, again it does look like there's only males in the audience.

2k seems to have a similar pattern but they do have women in their crowds.

This was screen captured from the Presentation video from the beginning of the month. It's dark, but it does seem like there's more indiscernible fans here.

Hummm so from today's Video maybe that's how the fans look during celebrations since the celebrations are cuts scenes and not in game real time footage

All I want is the animations to start at different times and the jerseys to be more varied.

I couldn't care less about males vs females or ages etc. I just want the crowd to look engaged and alive, which is not hard work.

Most crucial for the experience is the sound recording and cues of these audience sounds. They need to fix the levels too, so that commentators have the audience sound almost mixed into their dialogue.

Commentators need more emotion in their voices too and they need to get louder over big plays etc. not only in intensity but actual volume.
