2010 FIFA World Cup game and the event itself was the one that got me into FIFA and soccer. Playing it again I think it was the one that really started the turn around of FIFA. I enjoyed it a lot more than FIFA 13 actually. Only issue with the game was the usual FIFA marking/positional stuff and some tweaks to acceleration/sprint speed sliders were needed. I don't plan to switch to next gen until this game comes out, so I really hope it's a standalone game.

Re: EA Sports Confirms 2014 FIFA World Cup in Development
I can't see this not being a standalone game. A World Cup game appeals to a whole lot more people than UEFA Euro. Anyone interested in Euro would be someone who already owns the standalone Fifa game. You can't expect the casuals to go out and buy Fifa 14 AND then pay for the DLC on top of that to play a World Cup game.Comment

And it'll be next gen only, shamely.
NBA Live 14 and UFC aren't coming from this generation, who doubts about 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil?Comment

Re: EA Sports Confirms 2014 FIFA World Cup in Development
UFC is a brand new series and Live had been discontinued for a few years on current gen. This means they would have had to build these games from the ground up on 360 and PS3 whereas the World Cup game uses the same engine as FIFA.Comment

Re: EA Sports Confirms 2014 FIFA World Cup in Development
This is great news. I'm a PS3 owner, and will not be getting a PS4 for a while, so I am desperately hoping it comes out on current gen (which it SHOULD due to their large market across the globe).
My buddies and I have an exam time tradition- once the final exam is written, we all pile into my cramped basement and go on a qualifying run on WC2010 with Canada. Some years we play it on WC2006 for the ol' PS2.
We're all graduating this year, and so far in six attempts:
Grade 9, 1st Semester- WC2006 w/Canada, Made WC, Out in Group Stage
Grade 9, 2nd Semester- WC2006 w/Canada, Out in final Q Round
Grade 10, 1st Semester- WC2010 w/San Marino, Out in Q Round
Grade 10, 2nd Semester- WC2010 w/Canada, Out in final Q Round
Grade 11, 1st Semester- WC2006 w/Canada, Lost Semi to Uruguay 2-1
Grade 11, 2nd Semester- WC 2010 w/Canada, Lost Qtr Final to Norway 3-1
GRADE 12- TBD.
So very excited for another World Cup Game, hopefully the tradition of quality games continues! (and let's all hope this is better than that rubbish EURO 2012 DLC)I like sportz.

Re: EA Sports Confirms 2014 FIFA World Cup in Development
I'm still undecided about if I should get FIFA13 or 14, but if FIFA14 has world cup DLC in it....I'm for sure getting 14.
Though I also wonder if FFA14 does have WC DLC in it, if they'll sell it at some sort of combo discount in stores in the future(like you buy FIFA14 and get the DLC free,if you pay $70($50 for game,$20 for DLC,but DLC by itself is $30 or something)Comment

Re: EA Sports Confirms 2014 FIFA World Cup in Development
If it's not DLC, then I wont be buying it. I can already play as a smaller country in FIFA 14 in my manager mode to try and make it to the world cupBeavers|Red Sox|Buccaneers|NBA HoopsComment

Re: EA Sports Confirms 2014 FIFA World Cup in Development
Take it with a grain of salt if you want since it was said from a player instead of EA but FIFA World Cup might be a standalone game after all.
