Yet, rarely do GMs in the NBA have complete control. They must adhere to the mandates of the owner. Pat Riley, R.C. Buford, Joe Dumars and their ilk don't do as they please. They take ques from ownership (budget, roster limits, etc), coaches and scouts to make informed and good decisions that fit their plan.

If not, they end up leaving or fired like Steve Kerr. Who was doing a good job in Phoenix, but ownership (Robert Sarver) had a different vision. He also wanted no part of the luxury tax.

Also, rarely do GM's have absolute complete control over rotations, ticket prices, and on-court play. Still, it appears we'll have all of those abilities in 2K14. I would merely request the option of being in control of my own destiny as well, as opposed to conforming to the whims of a fictional computer owner. I like the idea of playing games, setting up rotations for games, trading players, scouting prospects and dictating the direction of my franchise. That's all.

Then honestly this mode probably won't be for you. Some owners, like the Lakers have a big impact on the direction you take the franchise.

Adds a great sense of realism, but for the guys who want complete control they won't like it.

They should have this mode and the regular old association from past iterations. I would definitely be playing this mode, but the old association would be nice to have as well. Especially when I am playing with my family.

I am not sure if he is asking if you can sign and also trade players because that should be a given. I think he means like do a sign and trade like the Magic did with Dwight.

Yeah, I'm being finnicky about the owner direction aspect. Whereas in the past I've typically been pretty optimistic about what 2K's brought forth, I've lost a little faith in that regard of late. I'm not as certain as I once was that 2K will work everything out in a sensible manner.

As such, I tend to put a lot of these vague information releases under the microscope. I have a lot of questions about their direction as a whole (with the virtual currency and whatnot) so I admit I feel skeptical with each micro-fragment information release. There's not a lot of clarity out there beyond what we can interpret from these screenshots.

Pretty nice that we're getting these back. Also notice the mention of paying luxury tax penalties. Interesting indeed. Simballer, where you at with that in depth man? Need to know more. lol
