No PS4/Vita Remote Play?

The remote play icon is missing from the back of the NBA 2k14 PS4 box. I thought all games on the PS4 were required to support the remote play feature? That was one of the main reasons I was going to get the PS4 version.

It was said, but I think sony was talking strictly their first party titles.

I thought it was said early on, when then PS4 was first announced, but I must have not read/heard that correctly. It would have been cool to play 2K14 on my Vita anywhere in the house.

I'm pretty sure you read correctly. Shuei Yoshida said all ps4 games will use that feature. I'm guessing he didn't know or he meant all [sony] ps4 games will have remote play. Its going to SUCK if this becomes a trend. This would justify my purchase for the vita, I have a few games, but its not used as much as I like to and I'd like to boot up a game where the ps4 is in my brothers room and its locked. I could just boot up my vita and play without interrupting him to get the ps4. Its convenient.

Sony's PlayStation Vita is getting a major content boost when the PlayStation 4 launches later this year, as all PlayStation 4 games will run on the Vita via Remote Play. The only exceptions offered by Sony Worldwide Studios head Shuhei Yoshida were, "unless the game requires specific hardware like the camera [PS4 Eye]." It also stands to reason that PlayStation Move-specific titles won't run via Remote Play, nor anything else that requires peripheral hardware (the Buzz! series, for example).

The PlayStation 4's Remote Play functionality with the Vita is said to be far more robust than its previous PlayStation 3 / PlayStation Portable iteration. Developers can even put Vita-specific controls in their PS4 games, enabling Wii U-esque second screen functionality, Yoshida told us earlier this year. We'll have our Vitas on-hand at E3 in a few weeks when we expect Sony will offer first hands-on with its next gaming console.

Yea, this is VERY disappointing. Really looking forward to using this feature a lot and it irks me the BEST next gen game won't have it.

Thanks for posting the link. I thought I did see this somewhere. I think if this becomes a trend, the upcoming VitaTV will lose one of its major selling points.

Knack doesn't have the remote play icon on the box either, yet that can do remote play. I would assume it's the same case for NBA 2k14.

Would this game even be properly controllable on the vita, without triggers and those tiny analog sticks? I haven't played nba 2k since 2012 but back then it would have been simply impossible to play this game on the vita for that reason. especially if you jump btwn console and handheld.
