Re: Madden 25 Next-Gen Living Worlds Trailer
I do like that they have finally listened to the sim-nation and made the sidelines interactive. That is a welcomed addition. Hopefully it happens in real time and are not just cut scenes.
It is hard to really tell from this video but the crowd didn't really look that different to me from current gen. Yea they looked a little more "3-D" but they all still looked synchronized to me, just as they did in previous versions of Madden.
This is how the crowd should look and react:

One the way out, I saw the same mixture.
I don't see many women and children in that picture. I do see a variety of ages and ethnicity, though.Comment

I was at the Packer/Bear game in Lambeau Monday night. Honestly, in our section, it was 85% drunken males. At $85 a seat, I don't think too many guys take their significant others and family members to the game.

Re: Madden 25 Next-Gen Living Worlds Trailer
It's 2013, are we ever going to move on???? There's been good football games in the past, I'm ready for something better. Am I alone? I mean if you listen to the podcast interview, they mention how this is just the first iteration of Living Worlds, they have a lot of big things planned for it in Madden 15 already. Just remember guys that they are going to build off of everything that they do from now on, so this is just the beginning. Hopefully next year we will see some team specific memorabilia like team flags, cheerleaders, cheeseheads, terrible towels, even those stupid grater heads lol.Last edited by jpdavis82; 11-08-2013, 10:56 AM.Comment

It also depends on the weather. Now the Falcons have a dome so weather is not a factor. But if you are @ a open stadium that would play into it as well. Snow, Rain, and Extreme Heat would keep more women and kids away. Not many women want to bring their kids to a stadium and sit there for 3 or 4 hours in the cold or the heat for that long. Guys don't care, ya know? We would do it in a heartbeat to see our favorite teams.
So there will always be more men than anything else at football games. But that doesn't mean that EA can't make the crowd more diverse. It is very unrealistic to have nothing but men in the crowd.
Just take a look at MLB The Show and look at their crowd. Very diverse with men and women. More realistic .....PERIOD!!!!!

I have to disagree my Man. I am in ATL and at the Falcons games there are plenty of women and kids there. Now of course there are gonna be more men than anything else simply because it's Football. But it would also depend on what time the game is too. If it is a Sunday or Monday Night game then it would be less women and kids simply because kids have school the next day. So Moms tend to keep the kiddies at home during night games.

Re: Madden 25 Next-Gen Living Worlds Trailer
Madden is never going to be a 2K clone. For everybody raving about 2K, and conveniently forgetting the issues those games also had, go play them. Enjoy. They're not going anywhere. I hear people here claim all the time "graphics don't matter to me, it's the gameplay!" So, download an updated roster for 2K5 and go have at it.
Where's the constructive criticism comparisons? "I pick 2K over Madden any day!" does not help things. It's posts like that that keep the devs from wanting to interact.
WHY would you pick 2K over Madden "any day"? Because it "looks better"? What about how it plays? Do you like their WR/DB interactions more? Is it the 2K8 kicking system? What? Do you have examples of why you choose one over the other?
The posters who actually take the time to dig up videos to compare it to, or post gifs showing how proper sideline interactions should be, my hat's off to you guys. Posters like roadman, big f'n deal, only1LT (and others that I'm forgetting), these guys all go out of their way to say "you know what? Madden doesn't do _______ right, but THIS video right here is how it should be done." Posts like that are how things get changed. Posts like that are why we're finally getting work done on pass/run blocking, actual foot planting (yes, I know, only 2 players with true step).
"Madden sucks", "I'll take 2K any day!" don't help at all. I'm sorry, but they just don't. So why don't you go play those games, and stop adding to the problem.
Sorry for the rant. I believe M25 (CG) is a good game. It's not great, and I don't believe M25 next gen will be, either. But baby steps (for now). I hardly post, but I'm a daily lurker. I just want to see Madden be great again, and if a dev pops in and sees random hate post #254, he's not even going to bother to read the good stuff. Stuff that can help. Please, read my story & learn how you can make a difference here: https://life.indiegogo.com/fundraise...her/x/12104444

Sunday games might be different. I'm just speculating, at $85 bucks a pop for the cheap seats there's more men vs families with kids.
I was at the Saints game at Lambeau on a Sunday last year in seats that cost three times as much and mostly men with a few wives sprinkled in, but no children.Last edited by roadman; 11-08-2013, 11:21 AM.Comment

Re: Madden 25 Next-Gen Living Worlds Trailer
Speaking of MLB The Show, the guy who's the Creative Director for next gen Madden, is the former lead producer of MLB The Show, so hopefully he will be adding the same kind of crowds we saw in that game. That game still has the most indiscernible crowds that we've ever seen in a sports game. What they're doing with next gen MLB is even more impressive, from 42 unique characters, to 1,000.[NYK|DAL|VT]

I get it, Madden "devs" are human, but I still hate the fact that we know these people by name in order to humanize them. I don't care who is working on the game, I don't care what his name is, I don't care how many years he's been in the business, I don't care how many hours/day he has to work, I simply don't care. Just make a game that's actually worth $60. Enough with the excusesComment

I agree with most of what you said, but let's be honest; if a "dev" has to go to a videogame forum for "stuff that can help" make his job easier, then something is very wrong.

Re: Madden 25 Next-Gen Living Worlds Trailer
Originally posted by jpdavis82It's not cutscenes and the game that did it before never had NFL teams players and stadiums to model. I'm sure Madden could have interactive sidelines too if they didn't render all 32 teams stadiums.
The Sailors dome has naval ships parked in the end zone that would fire their guns after a touchdown. Same for the Swashbucklers and their pirate ship cannons. The Sharks home field has a mechanical shark that comes alive after big plays. The Top Guns stadium has actual jets that perform fly-bys after touchdowns.
Basically, all of the 24 season stadiums have some type of interactive set, in addition to the tens of thousands of 3D fans in attendance. Those fans would even stand or sit at appropriate times during gameplay.
Even the game's 7 "generic" stadiums still have firework displays that shoot off in the sky after touchdowns.
Basically, everything Madden is advertising for Living Worlds has been done before by All-Pro Football 2K8. And all of the sideline characters and crowd members in All-Pro Football 2K8 weren't just clones of 2 or 3 base models; they were unique characters. You could take a cross-section of a single crowd shot or sideline shot in All-Pro Football 2K8 and not notice a single repeated model.
That is why you are seeing so much pessimism in these threads.Last edited by jyoung; 11-08-2013, 11:44 AM.Comment
