Re: Is next-gen Madden worth buying?
No one can provide an opinion on this until they play it for themselves and even then its still their opinion based on what they expect out of the game. So yeah, this thread will get closed.
Personally, i'd throw down $10 in a heartbeat to upgrade to next gen. -
Re: Is next-gen Madden worth buying?
I think it will be. even with all the negativity going around the boards about the next gen Madden I believe it will still be a better game than the current gen Madden. I am getting a PS4 regardless and I am practically getting Madden net gen for free so why not.Comment

Re: Is next-gen Madden worth buying?
Nope. Too many good games coming out for me to even consider buying Madden (Killzone, 2K, Black Flag, etc.).Comment

Re: Is next-gen Madden worth buying?
Looks exactly the same as current gen.
Reminds me of those 360 HD ports of games like half life or old metal gear solids.Comment

Re: Is next-gen Madden worth buying?
Some digital download sizes have been confirmed on Xbox One. Not sounding promising for the EA titles. When compared to other titles - Madden (12GB), FIFA (8GB) and NBA Live (9GB) are closer in size to the current gen than next gen titles. Even next gen Skylander weighs in at 15GB.
Ghosts 39 GB
Madden 25 12 GB
NBA 2k14 43 GB
NBA Live 14 9 GB
Forza Motorsport 5: 31 GB
Ryse: Son of Rome 34 GB
LocoCycle 13 GB
Dead Rising 3: 19 GB
Fifa 14 is 8 GB
Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag 20 GB
Just Dance 2014 is 22 GB
Skylander SWAP Force 15 GB
Zumba Fitness World Party 24 GB
This pretty much unsold me on any next gen EA Sports game. They were looking suspect as being ports and this pretty much seals it for me.
Even though I would rather play Madden or FIFA I really want something that screams 'next gen' so it looks like I am all in for NBA2K14 this season.Comment

Re: Is next-gen Madden worth buying?
As much as I want the next gen Madden25 to be great and all. It ain't going to be. But as a 23 year Madden vet. I believe it will be a little better then current gen is. It ain't going to be great or anything. But it will decent enough to buy and play. I've been playing Madden11 for past 3 years now. I held out and didn't buy current gen Madden25 to get next gen. This is about as good as it is going to get this year. So I'm buying it and going with it. I think it will be enjoyable to a certain point. But great it will not be.Comment

Re: Is next-gen Madden worth buying?
Saving my money this year. I'm not impressed with what's been shown so far and the fact we haven't seen more than a minute of raw gameplay one week before release is a huge disappointment.
It's OK as a start, but it's a typical launch game in every sense of the word. As I said in another thread, it reminds me so much of the original PlayStation and Saturn launch --- so many games ended up feeling more evolutionary than revolutionary. Looking back, many PSX launch games seemed more like glorified Sega CD or 3DO ports instead of the awesome games we ended up getting a few years later.
However, I may buy this after a $40-50 price drop. Only because of cross-gen draft classes and because it's football. Those with the $10 promotional discount may find some use out of it, but that offer doesn't apply to me.
At the $59.99 price tag, your money is better left saved. If enough people refuse to buy an underwhelming game, the onus will be on EA to improve it and win those buyers back...hopefully.Last edited by CarryTheWeight; 11-09-2013, 09:21 AM.Owner of URWL CAW WRESTLING: http://www.rantboard.net/Comment

Re: Is next-gen Madden worth buying?
I don't think it's worth buying. I preordered Madden 25 after E3, but the videos they have shown since have been so disappointing. And the fact that they haven't shown gameplay yet is a huge letdown.
As it stands right now I'm buying NBA 2k14 instead of Madden 25. I'm a huge fan of franchise mode and their new MyGM mode sounds awesome. Would be the first basketball game I've bought since One on One for my Commodore 64.Comment
