Re: NBA 2K14 Next-Gen Review (IGN)
8.9 is good but I wish it would have gotten a 9. Also I think IGN won't give 2K Sports games the props they deserve because they are bias towards EA Sports, I actually think EA does IGN favors for hyping and over scoring their top sports titles.Comment

Re: NBA 2K14 Next-Gen Review (IGN)
I think the review was fair. 8.9 isn't bad for any game, let alone a sports game. I so can't wait tip Friday to play 2K14.
On a side note, go to Target and buy 2 PS4 games and get 1 free. Most of the games released today. I was only buying two games, since I got a free one, i picked up Madden 25 next gen as well.My Artwork: http://frankwyte81.deviantart.com/ - I'm an Illustrator/Graphic DesignerComment

Re: NBA 2K14 Next-Gen Review (IGN)
Then hold ALL the games to that same standard.
I'll ask again: which of the next gen titles that are releasing on both the current and next gen systems represent an entirely different gameplay experience?
If you're going into this generation expecting every game to be some wholly new experience and none of them are, then I'd have to say the problem lies in the person having unrealistic expectations, not the games themselves.
I see you mentioned "new engine" and I think to some that means "entirely different game". When the current gen game was already considered to be the best basketball ever - why would anyone realistically expect them to throw the baby out with the bath water and go in a completely different direction when it wasn't necessary? Or even practical?
[...] to make the game look smarter, feel better, react in a more realistic fashion than it ever has.you have to deliver a completely different experience for that incoming console because thats what people are really going to measure you on. hey you know what? that looks phenomenal. that felt great. that is so different than what they did before.for us on the gameplay side at least what that really means is making sure that these guys think that they behave that they act like they do in real life.nba 2k14 on the playstation 4 is a fundamentally new experiencefor us to be able to start over fresh and to say that weve got this new ecomotion engine that can drive so many different things. its our rendering. its our ai. its our animations. its everythingComment

I skipped current gen 2K14, so I'm very excited to play this version. I actually am pleased with what I've seen so far because I was expecting less and 2K has set a great foundation. Yes, it's not perfect, but I'm looking forward to the 15th!Comment

Re: NBA 2K14 Next-Gen Review (IGN)
Like many others, I got a serious GTA V-meets-WWE vibe from the MyCareer cutscenes. Considering both franchises are under the Take Two umbrella, this is either a really crazy coincidence or a really crazy conspiracy. Whatever the case may be, I like where this mode is going.
Watching this video review in full HD on my tablet was mindblowing. By far the best footage yet released of 2K14 gameplay. Fully on board for Friday.
Just not sure why this is a full .2 points lower than FIFA 14, but I'm not going to jump to conclusions and overanalyze the final score of an IGN review. Still one of the top 3 best looking games on any next-gen console. I don't care what anyone says.Owner of URWL CAW WRESTLING: http://www.rantboard.net/Comment

Re: NBA 2K14 Next-Gen Review (IGN)
The broadcast gameplay looked beautiful. Shame on 2K for not showing it off prior to this. Acting scary for no reason.
I have no interest in MyGM or the Park. Cousins miming his thoughts was
The amount of loose balls is excessive. I don't think in your average NBA game you don't see it constantly. We've seen it in pretty much every video so far. Hopefully sliders can tune that.
Beyond that, the expectations for this game were way too high. Hopefully in 2K15 they can finally fix all of these legacy issues because the game does play a very good brand of basketball. They just need some fine tuning in gameplay areas such as control (we need more of it), rebounding and player movements.
I'm sure you have some interest in MyGM.Last edited by Melbournelad; 11-12-2013, 11:49 AM.Comment

Whatever you do, don't give constructive criticism or say anything negative about Madden video games! It seems to be the equivalent of a felony...Comment

Re: NBA 2K14 Next-Gen Review (IGN)
I think it may depend upon what you mean by "edit". Even when I controlled just one team in my previous Associations, I could still edit players on other teams. I just wasn't able to make trades and more or less "control" the other teams.Comment

Wish Mike or one of the marketing guys would give a bit more insight into the body models (primarily arms) varying so much with the game-play videos and trailers that have been released in the last 3 weeks or so.
The game-play videos from Bug had players resembling the thin models that were in 2k8 (if you have the game check for yourself). The Real Voice trailer trailer appeared to show the same when players would be in the super man pose during the half time or post game interview. All of the arms looked quite thin. But when you go back and watch the Gamespot preview video with game-play from the HEAT/Warriors matchup players like Bogut, Curry, Lee, Bosh, Wade, and LeBron have varying upper body types. The same can be noticed immediately in the current IGN review as well. The upper body types vary once again in a GOOD way!
So why the difference in the version that was playable at the location where Bug was capturing gameplay? Just wondering about the peculiarity given the time frame.
PS--I know Mike already stated that at least one player (Rose) would be addressed.Comment
