Sweet. Haven't tried it yet. Which penalties were you seeing? Holding, false start, clipping, facemask? Or the elusive pass interference, etc?

Enjoying my time w/ Madden, to me a whole new ball game and this is good. My only issues is no transfer of Draft classes and a lot of unis are still wrong. Otherwise enjoying this game cause it's got to hold me over til The Show comes out!

Well now that i have some long hours in with Madden NG...i must say i am 100% positive it is a much better game vs current gen. It really is a fresh of breath air as far as gameplay goes. I really want EA Dev's to address the presentation more for August 2014 when the next next gen madden comes out. The presentation really needs reworked..and this includes the animations, the repeating cutscenes,no real halftime show nor any real off-week stuff to tinker with. I really like the RPG stuff NBA2k14 has implemented into their game...it makes it really fun to mess around with.

I just hate to nag about small stuff but really its the small stuff that brings a sports game to life. The repeating cutscenes is very old now. I have always stressed that have a huge amount of cut scenes really keeps the game feeling fresh. NFL2k5 has been the only game where the developers realized this...i wish the Tiburon dev's could just see this.

Gameplay though..i am VERY PLEASED with the improvements over the short period of time they had with Next Gen Madden...it's a very noticeable difference. The AI is a lot smarter making single player games a blast to play now. Like someone else mentioned... each team plays like their playing style which also adds to the fun factor in Madden NG. I am pretty satisfied besides the "presentation" and "atmosphere" being nearly identical to current gen..outside of the upgraded visuals, better crowds and a bit better audio. They really gotta put more effort into this...but i cannot complain too much because the core gameplay really feels fresh i must say.

I also love the sideline catches now...it feel so good to see wide receivers fight to stay in-bounce now and running the rock is so much better too!

Great game i gotta say...as weird as it feels to say that, it is a good playing game of NFL pigskin! This game will most definitely keep me satisfied until MLB The Show hits and until the next madden comes out in August....I am expecting big things for the next madden though so Tiburon do not drop the ball on this great foundation you guys now have...with the new systems as time goes on i expect to see more visual improvements and more smarter AI because i understand developers are not truly harnessing the power of these new consoles yet..it always takes a year or two before they begin to take advantage of new console hardware..so i expect to see some great stuff ahead of us with Madden on these new consoles.

These impressions are very encouraging, it's great that they're kicking off this generation pretty well, gameplay wise especially. Definitely makes me real excited to try it out on the X1 sometime

Presentation imo, is better than CG, but still light years behind where it should be. One look at The Show or NBA2k and the massive gap in presentation is immediately apparent.

It's funny, because I feel like there are legit complaints about NG Madden, but it seems like 90% of the hate on this game came from 2 sources: The first being hate of the game before it was ever released, and the second being hate of the game after watching someone else play on Twitch. I just don't understand how you can toss the entire game under the bus when you haven't even played it.

There's a group around OS, that is dedicated to doing just that. EA could make the greatest game in the history of sports gaming, and the same guys would go out of their way to do just this.

I almost fell for it myself this year, I almost didn't by the NG version due to all the negative posts pre-release around here. Just the way it is, just need to filter out the white noise.

Yep, watching a stream on twitch doesn't do the game justice. Similarly the asinine embargoes that EA put on the game, set off signal flared in peoples minds (mine included). I have no problem saying that at this point in time I was wrong about Madden on NG. Still early, but the game plays better than CG and for me that is most important. So I can deal with sub-par presentation elements for now.

If EA can't fix their presentation on this generation with the space on Blu-Ray they never will.

i was in the same boat, and really had no intention to get Madden NG. Frankly if not for the relatively few launch titles that interested me, I wouldn't not have purchased it.

There will be no excuse, none for them to not have a top notch, or at least a SIGNIFICANTLY improved presentation model for this game.

I am enjoying the game more than I thought I would, but I have to say that I am pretty sure that this game is NOT running at 60 fps. A few others have noted the choppy graphics when the camera pans around. Are we certain that Madden 25 PS4 is locked at 60 fps?

This is good to hear. You're one of the ones I've come to trust. The lack of presentation for this gen launch won't bother me as much, but needs to be addressed soon. I was more interested in the CPU AI on (extra calcs per second) and off the field. Do you have any feel for the off field CPU AI for things like roster management (trades, drafts, depth chart), progression balance and sim stats?

Off field stuff seems to be exactly the same as CG. CPU roster management stuff is essentially the same the last several years imo, and still not up to NFL Head Coach par.

Someone in one of these threads ran 3 seasons for sim stats. QB stats seem better, not great but significantly better than CG.

I haven't gotten very far but I think these aspects are pretty similar to current gen and still have much room for improvements.
