    Would you recommend 2k14 NG?

I can't tell whether this game is solid or not. There seems to be no in between. It is either, "This game is amazing!" or "This is BS! Screw 2k!"

It sort of depends on your preferences. That's why the opinions seem so black and white. The roster editing is limited, and there's no create a player. That turns off a lot of people that would probably love the game if it were in the game.
People that don't mind the limited options seem to adore the game. I would like to be able to create players, but I can accept that it's probably not in the game for technical reasons. Because of that, I have barely been able to stop playing.
So it comes down to what you enjoy; if you can enjoy MyCAREER and MyGM without some features that we've come to love in the series, then it can be the best basketball game you can experience.

There are a few issues that have plagued it early on, such as with the 2k Servers. But it's sort of expected what with it being a launch title.

Thank you so much! A response that is reasonable!

I do create players every year and it is always a big association of mine, but I can live without it. Looks like I will be getting it.

      Thanks again.

This pretty much covers it. It's a next gen launch game and feels as such. Looks beautiful, and is generally a new-feeling experience compared to the somewhat sameness of the past several iterations of the CG game.

The price of it being a launch title is the customization of the game is very scaled back and limited, to the point where you pretty much have to accept the game for what it is. If you are into total customization, you aren't going to enjoy the restrictions of the game.

While customization is lacking, the game is simply awesome.

On court is fantastic, and absolutely beautiful. To handle the ball in this engine is a blast. Presentation is OFF THE CHARTS. As someone who has played 2K for a very long time, it just feels so much better on PS4. The movement, the physics and the entire game on the court feels so right.

I'm liking MyGM mode to, I like the extra immersion it provides. I get bored with the same ole' franchise mode, so the extra added conversations/RPG style elements are a nice addition for me.

I would absolutely reccomend this game.

For those saying if your are an association guy then pass, why?

Is it simply because of VC (like needing to purchase an upgrade to edit rotations)?

Keep in mind that I don't want to control what other teams do.

If you want to run an assoication with default rosters only, no way to stop the CPU from making bad trades, no way to edit players with added fluff like talking to your owner, making sure fans and **** are hapy and what not.

                      Then go for it.

I don't think anyone will say its a bad game. It is just missing a lot of options that made a lot of us fans of the series and thus we feel ripped off because we are no longer getting what we have come to love (made worse by the fact that the options are there but 2k for some reason is stopping it. There is a create a character in the game it's used for the myplayer and draft class (which by the way is also ****ed). There was thigs like saving rosters to your harddrive, defensive options, being able to play other games in MyGM and stuff like allow us to overide trades aren't exactly difficult to implement. It just looks like 2K is ripping us off and forcing some to shell out more cash to play single player modes. All of this gets in the way for me as dispite the gae being fun, all of the other stuff and the potential butt ****ing 2k is trying just makes me hate it.

I could only reccomend it as a rental at best, definately not full price. 2K does not deserve it at this point. But if all those things don't bother you...then there isn't nothing that would ruin it for you

You're not going to find a better basketball game right now. Buy it.

I don't like the whole VC/Goals part because when you play association (and basketball) your goal is to win titles etc. etc. I do like that you can get sacked but it shouldn't be goal driven in association.
In the end with me my ideal myGM would be a myAssociation with all the bells and whistles from NG myGM added to CG association mode (ie FULL CUSTOMIZATION OF EVERYTHING AND 30 TEAM CONTROL) and have the ability to toggle goals, cpu trades, player roles and trade override on/off.

It depends If you like customizing your roster, more online modes etc then no you probably should stick to CG.

But let me say this the gameplay is top notch. If you prefer gameplay over features then get this game. Everything is so intense and fun every match feels different.

That's my only problem with the game. Well The menus are confusing and some modes feel lackadaisical.
