I'm sorry but you and many others on this forum are downright mad. How can you possibly go back to NBA 2K14 on ps3!!!! Seriously!!!! The gameplay in nextgen is 1000x more advanced. Not to mention the graphics. The ball physics, the faces, the lighting, the replays!!!! Mannnn!!!!


I cant fathom ever going back. Its like owning a ferrari, then trading it in for a Honda civic because you dont like the shape of the trunk! Once you get a taste of something better, you cant go back, its human nature!!!


Honestly, is a videogame not ment to be PLAYED???!! DO PEOPLE NOT CARE ABOUT GAMEPLAY ANYMORE???!

Sure you can be frustrated at things like menus, slider etc, but going back to current gen? Thats a laughable decision really. I could never ever go back. It's crazyyyy to think someone could. The on court gameplay is what matters when your playing a video game. Do you not? NO?? Damn!

Co sign. With all due respect to every poster here. Every one is different and different aspects of the game hold meaning to reach person. I get that. But I think we need some perspective. Lets take Madden... That game is IDENTICAL to it's CG counterpart in almost every way. The gameplay and graphics are only slightly improved. Ask anybody over there would they trade vastly improved graphics and gameplay for extra stuff and menus s nd I promise you they would take what we have by a vast majority. Just sayin...

PS - a legitimate gripe however is the REQUIREMENT to be ONLINE. That's crap

The game is beautiful but I do have a question. It seems like every teams pg tries to force there way in the paint a lot and dump it off to a big man, or force a shot has anyone else experienced this, is this a slider issue? Also love the game but not impressed with the 2K roster update, a lot of teams have every star player shooting tendency at 99 and to many players touch tendencies to high. Not realistic, that looks like a 2Kinsider update instead of a StatsInc update, see tendencies issues like this really effect gameplay and play calling, c'mon 2K.

So forget the fact that modes under the hood are a mess and poorly executed. The most important thing is that..."Ooooh! it's pretty!". That should be our standards for the first sports on Next-Gen? I barely recall Madden lacking this hard in features in '01 for PS2. Did I fall and hit my head or is this still Operation Sports?

I know we all have a right to an opinion, but I can't believe some folks are giving 2K a pass on not have 30-team control and customization features. No create-a-player in a sports game? One of the most innovative features in a sports game in the past 17 years and it's ok? Seriously?!!

All of the people who keep bringing up Madden are missing the point.

Right now all 2k14NG has is the graphics and slightly improved gameplay.

All of the other additions are crap IMO and don't make up for the subtractions. So yeah while Madden doesn't look great, it is still a full featured game.

People who overlook that 2k has ****ed up are the reason why they can get away with it. Keep putting up with **** like this and they will keep taking standard features out. If MyPlayer was this time consuming then tehy should have shelved it until 2k15.

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME... I have playstation network and I have been play cod ghost so its not my connection... When i get onto NBA 2k14 I only have 4 options and they are quick game, my career, my gm and features... NO ONLINE PLAY, no association... Nothing... I'm not getting any updates and its been like 4 days since launch... wtf do i do

Relax, it's the first year on a new system. You're acting like 2k blew up the game and won't ever do anything about it.

Except 2k tried to have next gen features too and they suck.

I enjoy playing this game, it's fun, it looks great and all that. However, I will eventually get bored of playing quick games and without create a player and other editing tools, ****ty single player modes, and other issues, that means I will eventually stop playing which is something I never have done. I have played each of the last few 2k games up until like a month before the newest one comes out...this won't be the case here. Thus I am very disappointed.

as for 2k fixing this in the future, I am not so sure. They seemingly are going for cutscene driven scripted experiences along with other choices to force people to keep buying their games. They willl turn off the servers and then everyone will have to buy the next one or go buy Live instead for their basketball fix. I mean taking out all of these options makes it clear they don't care about the editing community. "bu-but its the first next gen game yo" doesn't cut it when the features they cut aren't even that major. How hard is it to allow people to save to their harddrive? Not at all. I get why the cut the CAP but when you still have one in the game, even if limited, then why can't we use that? And they really couldn't just port over association mode? Really? So it is difficult to gave faith in the company at the moment.

This is exactly what EA did with Madden. Took things out because those fools will eat it up anyway. Jus sayin.

i would love to be wrong but right now it seems like their priorities are different from mine. Personally, I think they should have scrapped MyPlayer and focused on other things and THEN add in the mode next year along with all the other standard features. That extra **** is less impressive when basic options like saving to your hard drive are missing.

Got my PS4 today, UPS guy showed up at 10:45 am. Had some things to do so haven't been on it as long as I want, but after two and a half games, I'm loving it. Obviously the features and restrictions are a bummer, but I understand why it happened and 2K has garnered enough good will from me that I can live with this for a year. They have the foundation laid for the next ten years, so next year they need to come with it on and off the court.

It's funny though, this is showing you a lot of the guys that have screamed over the years about not caring about graphics and features as long as the gameplay was right when they were laying into 2K about gameplay issues are frauds.

I am so dang excited for my XB1 and this game on thursday night. I could care less abnout 30 team control, I just want a good looking and fun basketball game. I'm ramped up to 11.

We should absolutely have both! But a NEW engine on a NEW console we shouldn't expect perfection out the box (see Madden 2006). I would rather gameplay & graphics over features if time and resources are limited(see Madden 25 on PS4)

CAP is in the game...would it really be hard to let us use it?
Being able to save rosters to the hard drive was in the game. Patch took it out (along with multiplayer in MyGM and defensive options)

and in the end the stuff that is missing is easy to implement. This was a conscious decision made to take these things out or just pure laziness.

and why settle for sub standard?

You guys are the exact reason why devs get away with dumb **** like this

I think the reasonable dissent comes from the game still having the same issues it always had off the court. Terrible consistency with the servers, rosters inaccurate, AI trouble in Associations ect. And all that without the usual tools available for fixing them (server problems excluded of course).

Ok dude. You that unhappy you have a real choice this year. I hope Live is all that you are missing. Not being funny I just don't see what you guys are. If you want to keep the devs from getting away with this you should buy Live.
