Can you play as any team anywhere? Or are the matchups pre-determined. Can I use the Cavs and play the Thunder in Cleveland or only Cavs-Knicks at The Garden?

Not bad at all still not worth $60. I like the long half time and post game report with all the information. Ign score sucks but game needs some work and hopefull they bring their A game next year.
Can tell my why my controller is red when playing this demo?Comment

No matter how you spin it fluent, that constant updating, unless adding in additional animations and tweaking the core game, not just player updates, will add nothing substantial to the game. Yes, the players may take the shots that they take in real life, but if it doesn't "play/animate" properly, does it matter?
To you, it's apparent that it does. But for others, a poor animating, poor graphic title just isn't for them.
I'm downloading it right now. If it's anything like what I've seen in the videos, it probably won't be for me. The ball isn't "live", I've seen some terrible bounces off of the rim, some terrible ball trajectories from a shot, etc. Those things, the "updates" won't fix.
Will it fix the offense running through Okafor? Hopefully. Will it matter if the game is downright poor animating? For some, not so much.
I'm hopeful for it still, but my optimism is draining pretty quick. No matter the "man hours" that it takes to update this game daily, if it doesn't play a good game in the end, you're basically telling them that you'll buy the game as an "atta boy" just to pat them on the back for standing behind their game.
I'm only giving them $60 if it's a good game that I enjoy, not just because someone is working hard on the game.Twitter - WTF_OS

Okay, you might think the game is just solid, or average, and then you say "it's okay, but it's not worth $60". Well, the game is solid, but it also updates every single game, every single team, every single day of the NBA season. That's pretty substantial, IMO.
I don't know about you, but I've had serious roster frustrations over the years with basketball video games. Little things, like guys having the wrong haircuts, wrong jersey numbers, bad ratings, to big things, like guys overachieving and still being rated low in the rosters, etc. Until I played Live 10. Because if a guy got called up from the D-league because of an injury, that guy was in the video game the same night.
I just love that aspect of the game. But if you're not feeling the game at all, then it's not worth your time or money. But if you like the game even a little, take into consideration all the features that play into that $60 price tag.
In other words, you're not just paying for a solid basketball simulation, you're paying for a solid basketball simulation that will be updated all year long.Comment

My teams have been installing for 10 minutes. Is that normal?

I'll agree on that portion. The key word though, is "you're not just paying for a solid basketball simulation". If it's a solid title, then it's probably going to be worth the $60 in the first place. Judging from everyone else's opinion thus far, they don't think it's a solid basketball simulation. It's not just at OperationSports either. Everywhere you read is basically calling the game a turd. Hopefully it's not.
I want an updated game, but first and foremost, I want a solid game. I can overlook some wonky animations here and there, but I can't overlook a game that gets the fundamentals and foundation of a basketball game wrong. Ball trajectory and physics are one of the keys in a good basketball game period.
Hopefully I can get a little bit of time with the Demo this evening and get a true feeling for the game. If it plays well, and feels good, then I'll support it. But if it doesn't, then the updates do not matter.Twitter - WTF_OS
