My online experience so far:
In a quick match Grizzlies vs. Timberwolves the lag was so bad that the game looked like it was being played with a slow-motion cheat enabled. Timing jump shots was impossible due to the lag. I mutual quit out of the game after 1 quarter of the unplayable lag.
Now I've been sitting here at the quick match menu for about 15 minutes searching for another opponent and I cannot find one. I tried joining through the lobbies instead of matchmaking, but the lobbies are completely empty.

The CPU creamed me but after getting way behind in the first half the deficit stayed roughly the same in the second half. Anyway, the controls were, in my opinion, relatively intuitive. I did have some issues controlling passes....in a few cases I had passes thrown wildly off the court. If it's anything like FIFA I probably held the pass button too long. I also have to learn to control defenders better. Finally, I still don't have the shooting timing down. The pre-order bonus game me so many gold packs I now have an all gold team. All in all it is very playable...the player models aren't where 2K is but I think it's still a good playable game and if they can build on it they'll be a competitor. One big omission, no practice mode where you can go over the controls.. I'm glad I bought it and I hope they carry on and make a new game next year.
