TNK - PATRIOTS FRANCHISE
WEEK 2 - New York Jets (0-1) @ New England Patriots (1-0)
WHAT A GAME!!!!!!The Patriots had a 21-0 lead in the 2nd quarter and it was 21-7 at halftime. The Jets trailed 28-10 at the start of the 4th quarter and the Patriots seemed to be in control before Ed Reed returned an INT 92 yards for a TD to cut the Pats lead to 28-17 with 8:45 remaining. Brady threw another INT on the Patriots next possession which led to a Nick Folk FG to make it 28-20 with 6:38 left to play. The Patriots chewed up some clock before their drive stalled and they were forced to punt the ball back to the Jets who took over on their own 20 with just under 2:00 remaining. Geno Smith drove the Jets all the way down field and hit Stephen Hill in the back corner of the end zone for a TD with 0:20 remaing to make it 28-26 and give the Jets a chance to tie on the 2 point conversion. Brandon Spikes made the play of the game on the 2 point conversion attempt as the Jets ran a sweep with Mike Goodson to the left and Spikes was able to make the tackle right at the goal line to save the game for the Patriots. The Jets onside kick attempt was unsuccessful and Tom Brady kneeled on the ball to run out the clock as the Patriots escape with a 28-26 win.
* Tom Brady was very sharp in this game other than a brief stretch in the 4th quarter where he threw interceptions on consecutive drives (MY FAULT - horrible decisions) and finished the game 24 of 34 for 312 yards, 2 TD and 3 INT
* Geno Smith had a great game as he threw for 292 yards and 2 TD
* Mike Goodson rushed for 90 yards and 5.0 yards per carry for the Jets
* Stevan Ridley had a tough day for the Patriots against a tough Jets rush defense as they held Ridley to 53 yards and a 2.5 yard average. The Patriots used all their RB though and totaled over 100 yards rushing as a unit
* New England improves to 2-0 on the season and will remain at home next week as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers come to Gillette Stadium in week 3
* The sliders have produced two fantastic games to start the season and right now I see no need to make any changes to the master set. CPU drops are there but minimal and the user INT that I threw are definitely my fault as I wasn't concentrating and I paid the price.
