I love seeing that the winner of Coastal Carolina and Bethune Cookman will be traveling to Montana. Some of my favorite playoff memories for Montana have been when southern teams have made the trip to Missoula in late November and December. Them southern boys are bundled up in basically parkas underneath their jerseys, while the Griz are sleeveless. By halftime, they want to get out of town because they are so cold and getting blown out.

It's nice to see the Griz back in the playoffs after a disastrous season last year. Not sure they'll have a chance against NDSU, but I'll be looking forward to the playoffs.

I hope Bethune-Cookman wins... just so I can watch them freeze in the snow in Montana and lose by 40. The person I'm talking to knows who I'm talking to.

I see 3 HBCUs made it, nice!

Go EWU in the whole thing!

Don't follow much FCS ball - hoping one day we can have a FCS only football game which will probably lead me to learn more about the level - but I hear Montana's a great could-be FBS program. Good luck to them.

Towson gets the first round bye, as expected. I think I may go to that game.

I like their chances. They have arguably the best weapon in the FCS, Terrance West, and a very experienced, very good offensive line. Defense is strong as well and forces turnovers. They have a couple lockdown corners who like to hit too.

I imagine Fordham will get the win over Sacred Heart, who I believe we smoked early in the season. I like the match-up either way.

Our biggest problem could be that our top two receivers are out, and at least one of them won't be back. Getting in a rut early could spell trouble, but they haven't gotten themselves into that kinda situation since earlier in the season.

We should go up to Carolina and win this week (the team wants to set the record straight from last season). This Montana team doesn't scare me as much as previous Montana teams (still a very, very good team though). The weather is the biggest factor though, but we're a running team anyway.

I'm praying that someway, South Carolina State can somehow win their first two.

Can we just lump Division II/III talk in here too, mods?

Minnesota-Duluth won their first game on Saturday 55-13 over Emporia State from Kansas. It was the coldest day of the year so far here and windy. Emporia State runs a spread passing attack. LOLs ensued. Emporia threw 5 INT, and UMD racked up almost 500 yards rushing while completely dominating line play on both sides of the ball.

This week will be a true test, as they travel to perennial DII powerhouse NW Missouri State, who is undefeated on the year.

Not pinning the Griz's hopes on weather. Merely commentating on how fun it is to see southern teams make the trek to Missoula in December. And there have been a few teams that have came up and played well in Washington-Grizzly Stadium (McNeese in '94, NW State in '01, Wofford won in '07), but the majority of them have came in and lost big. I'm just happy to see the Griz back in the playoffs this year. Last year was the toughest year for Grizzly fans in a long time.

UMD's season is over. Got beat pretty soundly 45-21.

I noticed while watching BCU get beat down, the announcers made the mistake of saying the MEAC's losing streak in the playoffs was over because Tennessee State advanced. I believe they messed up because TSU is an HBCU, but unlike the rest that are in the SWAC and MEAC in FCS, they're an OVC team.

Would be nice to see TSU move on, but I doubt it against EIU.

Saw that Winston-Salem State went down too, so there goes my DII team I was following. Also looks like we're on our way to another UW-W/Mount Union final in DIII.

Gonna be a chilly one in Missoula today. -8 right now, and expected high of 3.

On the weather forecast for today, it said "bitterly cold." Hope Coastal Carolina brought several extra layers today.

Highest temperature today for the FCS Playoffs (excluding NDSU): 47 degrees at Southeastern Louisiana.

Lowest temperature (Excluding NDSU): -3 degrees at Montana. It's actually -11 at NDSU, but they obviously play in a dome.

The rest range from 11 degrees to 40 degrees.
