That's entirely too long of an install process. Mine took about 30 minutes tops...

In regard to the original post - yes, I've experienced a similar issue although not consistent. Sometimes after inserting the disc, it doesn't read it (as if nothing's inserted). I ejected, reinserted it and was good to go. It's only happened about twice but I have a couple friends who said they experienced the same thing.
