    OnlineNation NextGen Debate

1st, its your boy NYCDaFuture on my bro name for a bit. This debate is for Online Gamers aka the Online Nation n SimNation All Day as Well.. We understand Offline gamers rather not play online because of terrible servers or because they rather not adjust to their random opponents who cheese etc.. Regardless I have seen here for years that ppl just say play OFFLINE. Thing is there is a lot of Online Gamers who rather just play Online.

2nd the Devs won't take us seriously if we just talk crazy etc. we have to come with good ideas to try to improve the Online Modes.

When we mention Online we are not just talking about the servers. Servers shouldn't even be mentioned because that should b without saying that servers should be working consistently with rarely network errors etc.

So what should be addressed for the NextGen in terms of Online.

    1. Couple of things I would have fixed are to save playbooks to be customized for Offline/Online.

    2. Online Leagues have more options for customization. Sliders etc

    3. Bring Rank/ Unranked lobbies back.

    4. Bring the Crew mode from 2k11 back.

    5. Leaderboards back, but more competitive legit. Meaning rank wins etc goes by an Elo system 2k had in place in NBA2k8. Its about who has quality wins not who played the most games to be in the top 100.

    6. Online Association

    7. Spectator Mode

    8. An NBA 2k quick match Season Online (kind of like how da other company has it) have prize tournaments etc.

    9. Team Up Leagues

    Add your own etc

I want 2k11 style leagues back, with the website support. Nothing was cooler than hopping on the website and checking out stats, posting story lines, or making trades. Thats was one of the 2ks most innovative and intuitive online features ever. It gave leagues longevity, and kept them from become stale. They even had leaderboards for the hottest/most active leagues on each system, which created traffic. So whenever someone dropped out or got kicked there were plenty of reserves there to hop in and take over. I was involved in a sim league that went on for 6 or 7 seasons, with 30 active players. It would be nice to have all those features back on Next Gen.

Online Association was 10x better. I hated Online Leagues because you had to have every team have a user to play every game. It wasn't fun. I like being able to the computer and my friends in an OA.

The only reason I disagree is because of how buggy OA always was. If OA's issues were addressed and it had the website support, It would have been great.

I'm ok with either leagues or. OA. I'd prefer OA IF it were fully functional. Either way it goes, we NEED to be able to customize it to our liking. I would like to play 10-12 min qtrs and I've been apart of a gaming community in which we have competed in sim leagues together on longer qtrs to create more realistic box scores, and stats, etc. it's a real shame we can't do that now on next gen! We all feel like we wasted our money on a game that isn't catered to our liking. I also want lobbies back, getting rid of that was just idiotic and unjustifiable.

            - Fix the issue with me getting a random playbook when I play online

            - Stop letting spamming the steal button be effective online

            - Make zone defenses have there real life weaknesses

            - Give us lobbies

I'm on PS4 and I can't even get an online game in. I go to quick match and it will say "searching for opponent" forever. When it does finally connect with someone its so lagged out that the "waiting for opponent" screen comes up. I don't like to play against the A.I. I'm trying to find out if this is an isolated incident or is everyone on PS4 having these issues.

Big Kev, What yall @2kSports #NBA2K14 Nxt Gen ONLINE, is unacceptable sorry, had to let that out, Never had a chance to play in the 2k11 LEAGUES, but i heard all of the features, was SPOT on , website, full LEAGUES.

It feel like, ONLINE COMMUNITY cannot compete, to the MY TEAM, MY career, and this by all means no disrespect to the MODES, or the community, that plays these modes.

All we want to do is PLAY COMPETITIVE 2k BASKETBALL ONLINE, besides FREINDS MODE, it seems thats all we have left, IT is unfair to the ppl, and the SIM COMMUNITY, and whoever plays ONLINE.

GIVE US SOMETHING, THE PROPER #ONLINELEAGUES, or #ONLINEASSOCIATIONS, with detail, customization, custom rosters, most of all, give us the capabilities to edit rostors, playbooks, and no auto save, give us more control whoever commision leagues, and most of all the the options to SAVE , YES I SAID IT AGAIN, it is most important that we can retrieve what we saved, PLAYBOOKS, when playing COMPETITIVE ONLINE 2k BASKETBALL, This is the MEAT and POTATOES of the GAME, WE need to able to LOOK thru all playbooks, like current GEN, and be able to customize our own playbook, besides DEFAULT and save it, and not to worry, if it is there, or not, WE NEED THIS ONLINE LG. FIX it is not playable.

WE NEED THE ABILITY to #PRACTICE PLAYS, we need the GYM , so we can practice, I HAVE NOT MET ONE PLAYER, that did not GO IN THIS MODE, THE #ONLINENATION & #SIMNATION this is what we do play COMPETIVE BASKETBALL, @2k Yall is strpping us to the bones, taking features little, by little, WE is reaching out to you @2k,

                  THANKS, BIG KEV

I'd like the ability to change FT difficulty for online leagues and private matches/team-up. FT difficulty at 50 is an absolute joke. C+ releases go in with absurd regularity. I think even increasing the FT difficulty increases the number of ball-to-rim-interaction animations. On default it seems like the ball is flat and no matter where it bounces on the rim, it's gonna go in.

Having FT difficulty set at 50 unbalances the game, as there would be no incentive to hack Dwight when he's in the post.

I agree with everything said above. Hate to continue to diss 2k but this is unacceptable. It's 2013... about to be 2014 and to not have a functional online system is pathetic. Especially if this is a next-gen system. 2k14 literally went backwards about 5 years. You can find some of the basic lg options in a 2k8 league. The sad thing is they won't even address there is a problem. All we hear is it's in the dev's hands like we are bitching about some socks or something. This is a pretty damn important game mode that is incomplete at best. They act like they are surprised that people are complaining when in fact they knew damn well before they released this game people wouldn't like it. I mean they successfully killed a huge fan-base (die hard) at an instant. I guess we shouldn't be surprised after the crew fiasco a couple yrs ago.

I liked OA but it was very buggy with $0 contracts, dumb veto system, god awful rookies. I dont know why they were so lazy with it, especially when OA's had the same issues 2 years in a row. Personally when I found out that 2k NG would be going back to online leagues I was torn. I thought NG was supposed to move FORWARD not backwards. Anyways back to what is wrong with the current system:
-We need basic commish options (boot/invite, sim, approve trades, set minutes, game difficulty, playoff games in a series, set divisions, etc)
-Advanced commish options (custom rosters, sliders, etc.)
-Better user controls (set rotations, set playbooks, save coach profiles, take players off IR, etc.)
-More realistic league settings: (currently there are no divisions set in place, so if you have a 30 team league there are 30 teams in one division/conference. That is unbelievably lazy and unprofessional.)
-Useful website support (The online league sites from 2k11 and prior were ahead of their time. You could check live scores of games going on, post stories, accept trades, see player ratings, stats, etc. All without going on the console. 2k should be taking advantage of this especially with the on the go way of society. Everyone has a smartphone/tablet. This should be a no-brainer. OA was buggy slow and once again a step backwards. I mean current gen OA still doesn't have a site and if they do they sure haven't announced anything. I hitup LD2k about a month ago asking about that site and he said he didn't know. You would think that would be somehting they should know about considering a website is a perfect place to advertise and market your game to the crowd.

I can go on and on about how I feel 2k needs to step up their online experience. I will not deny I love playing the game, the feel of the game is amazing. I get bored playing CPU over and over and I feel like the majority of my requests are VERY VERY BASIC in order to have a functional league. The way league are currently setup I bet they have less than 5 active leagues over 20 people that will actually finish. Actually since you can't boot or sim and the only way to get to the playoffs is for 100% of the games to finish I will go on the record and state that 0 league with 20 more teams will be completed. That is sad and a very big step back from a community that was once the majority is now almost extinct due to 2k's ability to make progress.

Rant over, I'm sure this will go on deaf ears and they will probably try to push OA 2k15. Let's just pray there's guys who are willing to come back and give 2k one last shot. I'm about to sell it if I don't see any progress because 2k without any lgs is worthless to me.

I would like to see the come back of nba2k11 leagues, with the web and all the other stuff. OA are buggy, but if they can make a mix of OA and online leagues, it is ok for me
                        I see it this way:
The basics for this year edition: sliders, quarter length, level of difficulty, reset and sim games
For next edition: rosters fully functional, draft, customizable playbooks, etc

I agree with everytihng that have been said, the Next Gen has to be (mainly) the consolidation of the online gameplay. We need more diversification in general and better admin/custom tools for Online Leagues/Associations (including a new Web site).

Another thing I would add (even though it is not only related to online) is the ability to practice plays, for “sim heads” like us I found it extremely useful when playing 2k13 OA’s… It would be nice also to have a feature to scout your rivals somehow...

                          Cheers! ;-)

                            7. Spectator Mode
This could definitely be on the back burner, with Twitch livestreaming on next gen consoles, the problem is slightly fixed. Maybe 2k could do something more nice/practical but the systems (minus Xbox One until January/February) can pull off Spectator Mode.

                              Fix the PLAYBOOK problem:

                              1) you cannot practice the playbooks

                              2) For Online Match, there are random playbook you cannot practice offline because they are different playbooks. For example, one team has a offline playbook vs an online playbook. Fix that glitch !!!!

                              3) Let us SAVE the playbooks for Online matches at our sole discretion and in the order we wanna 'em.
