To remind you guys what a masterpiece this was. Much like Cena vs Punk, an awesome story.

With all the bull**** that's happened here in the fall, I still have hope that Bryan will get some revenge, maybe this Wyatt thing ties in with the Authority and/or he'll win the Rumble. It makes sense in the kayfabe. You can't end just this story with him getting screwed multiple times and then getting kidnapped.

They can't ignore the chants for him and there has to be a reason why they gave him a clean win over Cena. I think he'll get his moment, even if it's a little late.

      Re: WWE Off-Topic

Okay, so about that “wait and see where it goes” thing. Stop doing it.

If WWE has proven one thing in its 50 years of existence, it’s that you can never, ever wait and see where it goes. It doesn’t go anywhere good. Ever. The goodness of WWE is in the journey, not the destination. Every good story you can think of has a bad ending, partially because WWE doesn’t have seasons so you can’t cleanly separate a plot point from an “ending,” and the stories just go on and on forever until they get retconned or rewritten or forgotten.

Take the Summer of Punk for example. That was cool, right? Money in the Bank was amazing and ended with Punk leaving WWE with the WWE Championship, blowing a kiss to Vince McMahon. If that’d been the end of a season of television or the end of a story, it would’ve been great. We could start fresh with the next thing, and where it goes wouldn’t change the goodness of what happened. But it doesn’t work that way and we’re stuck in this static purgatory of always waiting and being in the middle, so “where it went” was:

      1. CM Punk winning the title in a match special guest refereed by Triple H
      2. a pinfall loss to Triple H thanks to interference from Kevin Nash
      3. Punk never getting revenge on Nash, then teaming with Triple H
      4. Punk and Triple H losing to R-Truth and The Miz, then Triple H shuffling himself in a feud with Nash
      5. Punk hanging out in the mid-card for the rest of the year (whether he was champion or not)

If you want to really get into it, Punk held the title for 434 days in a reign that would’ve been important if we still lived in a time when title reigns were important until it was time to lose to the more important wrestlers, i.e. The Rock and The Undertaker. Of course these were high profile matches and wrestling is fake so it’s not like Punk was getting “buried” or anything hyperbolically stupid like that, but he did go from the Most Important Thing to a thing that loses to the More Important Things.

Now, let’s look at how Daniel Bryan. “Where it went” was:

      1. Daniel Bryan winning the title in a match special guest refereed by Triple H
      2. an immediate pinfall loss to Randy Orton thanks to interference from Triple H
      3. Bryan never getting revenge on Triple H, followed by three consecutive bull**** PPV finishes
      4. Triple H shuffling himself and Orton into a feud with The Big Show and eventually John Cena
      5. Bryan hanging out in the mid-card for the rest of the year. With CM Punk.

Again, Bryan’s not being “buried” or anything ridiculous like that because he’s a popular guy who has great, often high-profile matches on every show, but he’s gone from the Most Important Thing to a guy who gets all his heat and moments and catchphrases usurped by the More Important Things. Cena, Orton and Triple H are all in the ring while the crowd chants DAN-IEL BRY-AN. Cena pipes in to say “want to know why these people are chanting Daniel Bryan?” The only acceptable answer should’ve been “because they love Daniel Bryan and would rather see him out here right now instead of all this bull****,” but nope, it was “because they’re tired of the AUTHORITY~!” Cena co-opts the crowd’s support of Daniel Bryan to justify a John Cena vs. Randy Orton match for BOTH TITLE BELTS under the supervision of Triple H.

So, without sounding melodramatic, “where it goes,” based on everything that has ever happened in WWE ever, is to the people WWE sees as its biggest stars. That’s it. If WCW invades, it leads to a “Winner Take All” Survivor Series match featuring 9 WWE guys and 1 guy from WCW. If the Nexus invades and instantly builds 8 new stars, it leads to John Cena and Bret Hart beating them to death until they’re worthless. If Punk catches fire, it leads to Triple H vs. Kevin Nash. If Bryan catches fire, it leads to Cena vs. Orton. I’m sorry, but it’s how wrestling works on this level, and no amount of you clapping your hands and wishing will change it.

Learn to love the journey and forget the destination, guys. I’m going to try to take that advice myself.

I should be writing ****. The more I think about it, the more my idea in the Survivor Series thread would be ****ing awesome. I still cannot believe they brought Kevin Nash into the Cena/Punk situation.

I think we can all agree Kurt Angle needs to make a WWE comeback so he can feud with Cena again.

I caught the end of TNA when I was turning to SPIKE to see the PS4 launch event. Angle just looks like a bloated shell of himself now.

Really? That's a shame. Haven't watched TNA in forever, didn't know he was still wrestling.

Also doesn't help that he's weeks removed from coming out of rehab.

                  Re: WWE Off-Topic

To add to my point on Bryan:
The daft thing is, Bryan has been dealt with excellently.

Every single part of his WWE career has been used to generate sympathy from the IWC whilst keeping him as a "big deal".

They put him on NXT (annoying the IWC) but gave him the Miz and made a point of saying Bryan was better than him. They gave him a losing streak (IWC) but gave him strong losses against the World Heavyweight Champion (big deal). They put their biggest heel on him at the time, Michael Cole, yet gave him a big spot in The Nexus. They fired due to sponsor problems with the tie strangling but gave him the US title almost immediately after him coming back (remembering that in the WWE thought he had just finished NXT).

They've given him major spots on the show as part of Team Hell No, they gave him the WHC then put him in a cage with two monsters in Big Show and Mark Henry and had him win. They gave him the MITB, he's a 2 time WWE Champion. He has the aforementioned win/loss record second to nobody on Raw and only one in the entire company. His TV time and angle involvement this year put him in the "major players" list in the WWE. He's constantly involved, constantly winning and constantly featured.

The problem that we have now is that the WWE uses Daniel Bryan as "the guy the internet likes" and books him accordingly. The IWC was so used to being "the smarks" that they are completely oblivious to the facts that they are now being worked like marks. Good example, we have a guy who is a major player in the WWE who has the accomplishments listed above and almost every single major wrestling site or forum has threads all over the place saying that they want MORE of him, and how the dastardly WWE (or Vince, or HHH, delete as applicable) is burying him. This is classic booking strategy, generating sympathy for the babyface by giving him an insurmountable heel (the company) to overcome.
Maybe we are really being worked here.

Bryan will get his due in time. They've already made him into a thing pretty much everyone cares about one way or the other which is good and I feel like they are really just waiting to give him THE moment at a Wrestlemania. After all the biggest blemish on his resume thus far is getting destroyed by Sheamus at WM.

That article Dayman posted hit the nail on the ****ing head.

It's also something that most of us here have been saying for a while, which shows how much confidence we have in the WWE when it comes to "Pay offs" at the end of Feuds. It's exactly why I was never confident in the whole Bryan/Triple H build after Summerslam and why I had no confidence they would be able to make it last til WM.

This is why I wouldn't hold that against him. He's been going through some **** the last few years and he just doesn't seem to be able to get out of the rut.

WWE has no reason to bring back someone who's in and out of rehab and looks out shape. They got plenty of other guys they can lure out for a return and are seemingly developing a rich talent pool in NXT.

That's pretty WWE's opinion on basically the entire TNA roster. If/When they go under, WWE probably won't sign a single guy, because they believe the guys in NXT can be built in the same way at a younger age.

Angle would only be nice in the mark thing, but he really should retire before he destroys his neck.

I really feel that Orton and Cena are holding the fort at main event level to give the internet fans what they've been clamouring for for years; a more prestigious mid card. There's rookies being pushed into matches with, and put over by, genuine main event calibre talent, with all parties finishing looking strong. The US and Intercontinental belts are both (now Big E has beaten Axel) on young, over, phenomenally talented guys with brilliant futures ahead of them. And, you have a tag team division that has been flourishing from ever since Air Boom were the champions. Cena and Orton are there because they're status quo; people will still buy PPVs in large numbers with those guys on the marquee. The WWE is using the guys we love to build the foundations beneath that; like we've been asking them to do over the last 5 years or more.
Trust them. I (think (hope)) they know what they're doing.
EDIT: I'm also calling shenanigans on the TLC main event. They're still leaving with one title each. Maybe different ones between them, but no unification. If they do eventually unify, I think they should be rid of the WWE title, and keep the World Heavyweight. The WHC looks and sounds more prestigious; one just represents the WWE, the other, the World. That's how I've always seen it, anyway.
