I can't wait to play it man.. This right here has me cranked up to play the game. Madden 13-25 was kind of a disappointment on the challenge side in certain areas. Love what I'm hearing so far about the gameplay from the AI on the new gen..Comment

Re: Madden NFL 25 Impressions (PS4)
Played my nephew last night, hes one of the guys that play the wrong way. Dropping back 20 yards to throw, going for it on 4th and 10 etc. Made him quit in the 3rd quarter. That cheese BS just couldnt work for him. Had him 21-0 should have been atleast 28-0 besides a few turnovers from me. Sacked him bout 5 times, picked him off 4 times and he kept throwing into double/triple coverage all game. In past Maddens the stuff he was doing would have worked. It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 25 Impressions (PS4)
Having spent more time with the game. Two things really bug me about the game.
1. The CPU HB Screen game is way, way to overpowered. Even when I am playing the screed as the DE or LB the CPU is still way to "perfect" in their execution. More times than I can count I've watched the CPU run the play for TDs or long plays. While I am willing to say there could probably be some user error, but they are still get way to many yards.
2. Defensive player moment is flat out terrible. I have been hearing that this is a PS4 specific issue and while at first I didn't beleive it. The more I play, and the more I try to tackle runners in space or take the angle on stretch play, the more I beleive it. To quote pasta padre:
What stood out instantly on the Xbox One was a sense of greater player control. More precise movement with the left stick is possible in the running game – running the ball was notably easier on Xbox One – compared to the heft of steering players on the PS4. On defense where a greater number of tackle attempts in the open field on PS4 are missed (too often running right by the ball carrier) no such problem is being had on the Xbox One.
These are the two issues that I am seeing more and more. But I still enjoy the game and many of the "madden issues" still exist the game is a step in the right direction and I am still having fun with it.Moderator

This sums up exactly what I am seeing and feeling as I play the game. It is a problem, and it is one that I know probably won't be patched for Madden 25, but it will be my crusade for Madden 15.

does the XB1 handle some of these things any better?Last edited by TeeDogg; 11-30-2013, 09:47 AM.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 25 Impressions (PS4)
Actually the defensive control is not much better on the Xbox 1. The game control is a bit more responsive I guess because of familiarity with the controller, but don't be fooled about claims about better defensive control because it is not any different.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 25 Impressions (PS4)
How does the infinity engine feel on the XB1 vs PS4,any notable differences? feels like the PS4 version has it tuned down o almost nothing vs the 360 version. im not seeing much of the things I liked about it before but im still seeing alot of things I didn't like (mushy, wonkiness). On the 360 it felt like I had gang tackling because the physics were tuned so well. now any time the third defender gets there the first defender pops off.
does the XB1 handle some of these things any better?

Re: Madden NFL 25 Impressions (PS4)
Funny how the Infinity Engine has been scaled back over the last couple of years where I see a lot of defenders hit the pole, but there are fewer scrums. That is a big letdown. I thought we were done with that. This is why I get frustrated with this title: any real progress slowly regresses over the years, to point we are asking for things we thought should have been in the game already.

Re: Madden NFL 25 Impressions (PS4)
I got the game last night (European release date) and my first impression is that it is a decent game.- True Step feels a little awkward, but it has potential. I'm looking forward to seeing it affect the whole team and not just one person on the field.
- War in the Trenches is a beginning. There is still a lot of warping and suctioning, but it's getting better. Double team run blocking is still way overpowered. I'm consistently getting between 10 and 15 yards per carry from my HBs running up the middle - this is on All Pro though.
After my first day with Madden on PS4 I'm cautiously optimistic about next year. and hope Madden '15 will be on par with APF 2k8.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 25 Impressions (PS4)
Picked this up yesterday (European release).
Really liking what's happening on the field. The pocket whilst not perfect is so much better on NG. Have had numerous QB's escape the rush either moving around, or even more impressively stepping into the pocket on the rush off the edge.
Oh, and as someone who goes to all the International Series games it's nice to see a true representation of Wembley in Madden now! Wish we could use it as a stadium to relocate too if you chose London though in a relocation, that would be really nice!Comment

Re: Madden NFL 25 Impressions (PS4)
Does anyone, think that the 3-4 defense is at a disadvantage vs the run? I know that I mostly use the Redskins and that is probably part of the problem. Just wondering if any other user who run a 3-4 defense are having difficulties?Moderator

Re: Madden NFL 25 Impressions (PS4)
They really need to fix the "insta offense" plays. In CPU games, and even against users, screen and toss plays are basically zero risk, all reward. Toss is a little better in user games but screen is still borderline cheese. CPU controlled defenders, whether on user team or CPU team, just do not react at all realistically to it. You can have zero guys rushing and it still works. It's basically an "easy button." I don't run it against users unless a user runs it on me first, and even then I only match it one for one throughout the game. Toss isn't as big of a problem as it used to be but it's still a little overpowered.
I also think it's silly that the spread option stuff is harder to defend in this game than NCAA. The blocking in those plays is just super juiced and defenders still don't react well or shed blocks like normal. I know, about the pre-snap adjustments but they don't always even work as intended. I really hope EA has paid attention to what NFL Defenses have done to the read option this year and adjust moving forward. Just like the "wildcat" offense of years ago."Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."
