* The Patriots cruise to victory in an absolutely dominant performance as they crush the Pittsburgh Steelers 41-6. The Patriots defense had their best performance of the season as they held the Steelers to just 6 points and kept them out of the end zone, holding Pittsburgh to just 2 field goals in the game. The Patriots were bit by the injury bug though as they lost several key players in this game to injury but will get the benefit of the bye week to give them 2 weeks to heal up before their next game.
* Tom Brady was outstanding as he threw for 278 yards on 22 of 38 passing with 3 TD and no interceptions
* Stevan Ridley had another solid game as he ran for 106 yards and a TD
* Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski got laid out attempting to catch a pass early in the 1st quarter on a hit by Lawrence Timmons and had to leave the game. Gronkowski is expected to miss 5 weeks with broken ribs. Michael Hoomanawanui will try to fill the void while Gronkowski is out
* Patriots DE Rob Ninkovich was injured when he sacked Roethlisberger in the 2nd quarter and did not return with an elbow injury. Ninckovich will miss a week and should be all set to return for the Patriots next game after the bye
* Patriots FS Devin McCourty left the game in the 4th quarter with and did not return. McCourty will miss 4 weeks with a broken thumb. Tavon Wilson and Duron Harmon will both see increased playing time while McCourty is out.
* Patriots WR Julian Edelman tore his MCL on a punt return in the 4th quarter and Edleman will miss the remainder of the season which will be a big blow to the Patriots offense
* The banged up Patriots will have 2 weeks to heal from their injuries as they go into the by week at 7-2 on the season and comfortably in 1st place in the AFC East. The Patriots next game will be in week 11 as they travel to Carolina to face the Panthers on Monday Night Football in a battle of 1st place teams as the Panthers are currently 7-2 on the season and riding a 5 game winning streak.
