    NCAA 14 / MADDEN 25

had ncaa14 from day 1 and although it has some issues overall not a bad game, so now madden 25 has been out a while, before I get a copy is there much difference between the 2 games gameplay wise ?.

The playcalling and camera views are different (Madden has the option of "Gameflow" where the OC calls plays for you; default camera view is waaayyy to high or waayyy too close in cutscenes), but other than that the biggest difference I think is the physics engine, IMO it seems that NCAA runs a lot smoother in that department, fewer post play stumbles and faceplants and the like.

NCAA's passing game feels different too, but it's difficult to tell, I rented Madden from Redbox for a couple days and that's it.

I find it amusing that the OS icon for NAU is 20 years (and three rebrands!) out of date.

I've had ncca14 from day one and it rarely comes out of my console.

Bought Madden25 on black friday and so far I'm having trouble getting into it. The gameplay just doesn't quite flow like ncaa's does. Also very buggy, especially connected franchise mode.
      please vote.

I also got madden for Black Friday and have had NCAA since the day it came out. Honestly madden just feels so much more different for the worse for me. I can't get into it, the commentary is awful, like I mean repeating the same lines 5 times in a row. And they gameplay is pretty lame. The franchise mode is kind of cool though, they combined superstar mod and dynasty mode togeather. The game is okay but it's nowhere near as good as ncaa 14

Personally I would say save your money. I am a big football fan and much much more into the pros than college. Madden was terrible to me. Can't even play it. Worse game purchase of my life. I may sound like a madden ***** but that is because madden turned me into a madden *****. Used to love the game, now I can't stand it. Bad gameplay, terribly glitched franchise mode (unplayable IMO). All around a half-assed performance. I have NCAA 14 and enjoy much more. At least when you get terrible defensive play in NCAA it is semi realistic to the real NCAA, whereas in madden all defenses play terribly.

          ...(hat)er is a blocked word?

NCAA 14 is a much more in depth polished game than Madden. As stated in the previous post one can live with the fact that the defense is stupid as it was developed by the Ohio State defense. (One dig). The thing I did find in NCAA is that when you take control of a DB or LB and cover decently you can earn a coverage sack and it sometimes helps coverage away from the ball. They CPU mates either play smarter (probably my hallucination) or you've taken away the target receiver. It also plays truer to the player ratings. Which means either the CPU cheats or upsets are harder to come buy. Ie. You can get a decent game playing a team like Buffalo v any top tier team like Alabama. But no way Buffalo is winning. (Unless it's Ohio State then you might beat them).

I guess it should come as little surprise that the folks on the NCAA board prefer NCAA...

well that's probably true, just wanted some idea what people who had both games thought about the two games, so thanks to all that replied.
still can`t make up my mind though, because NCAA out of the box is not that great but with the editors and slider tweaks I have it playing about the best I can get it, for me anyway, so maybe madden can be improved with the editor and slider tweaks, only one way to find out, spend some money, lol.

I normally prefer Madden, but NCAA plays a lot better for me this year. NCAA is not perfect but I feel like I have more control of my players. Madden feels like it's incomplete. With Madden I sometimes feel like I'm just watching it instead of playing. Players respond slower and the game feels awkward.

NCAA is definitely better than Madden.
only thing Madden has is the broadcast cam and more fumbles.

IMO, run game, passing game, playing defense is much more organics in NCAA. and infinity engine is also more polished.
                    game is also graphically better

Sorry my bud, you missed the point. You have a way to make Madden better, I think we are all ears. NCAA is far from perfect, but at least some of the solutions on NCAA work better than Madden. I think most of us try both games to fill the football fix. Now with only one choice for next year we all have to hold our breath. Madden was great in years past. I would rather have a game be challenging. Defense is also part of the game.
