    Penalty Sliders

    Can someone post the best penalty set to use? I've never really understood how penalty affect the game but some of you guys have found things that totally change the gameplay. I'm on PS4.

    I started with a set off this forum created by forum member authentic, then tweaked them to my liking. I'm playing 8 minute quarters , no accelerated clock. I'm seeing realistic calls for offside, holding, facemask, clipping , roughing the passer. This set has defensive pass interference and int grounding set at 0, I'm assuming because it effects gameplay but don't really know. Any way here they are.

    offsides 60
    false start 55
    holding 60
    facemask 60
    DPI 0
    OPI 100
    KR/PR int 50
    clipping 50
    Int grounding 0
    roughing passer 53
    roughing kicker 100

    I'm going to experiment with the DPI slider, I want to see if I can get some pass interference calls without messing up the gameplay.

      Here are the ones I'm rolling with. Penalties don't have near as much affect on gameplay as they did last gen.

      Offside: 60

      False Start: 60

      Holding: 63

      Facemask: 55

      Defensive Pass Interference: 50

      Offensive Pass Interference: 50

      KR/PR Interference: 50

      Clipping: 57

      Int Grounding: 50

      Roughing the Passer: 54

      Roughing the Kicker: 50

            Very true, I'm having a hard time opening up the tackle and interaction animations like on the 360. That's the big thing holding the next gen game back. Too many "video game" tackles and interactions.

              Is there a penalty slider that will help the CPU QB get rid of the ball faster, they seem to hold on to the ball too long, I on Normal speed. I have CPU pass block at 95 and i'm still getting way to many sacks.

                on last Gen it was said the intentional grounding slider did this. I cant confirm because I never tested it. I found that once I blasted the QB a few times he would throw the ball faster when pressured, including out of bounds. ive been so busy trying to tweak other things with the PS4 version I haven't even attempted to try to mess with the QB tendencies

                  I've tried every conceivable combination of penalties and sliders to try to combat this, and there is no solution. Sacks are broken in NG. Only a patch will fix it. No way to prevent anywhere from 6-12 sacks on QBs in NG.

                    Yeah, that is annoying that its so hard to open up the tackles animations..Im so hating the flat on your back no matter how fast you running animation.....there is no reason that type of tackle should happen so often with the suppose new engine

                      6-12 sacks is not what I'm seeing. 6 is the most I see. Not sure what your doing. I'm not seeing this on default all-madden

                        Sacks are extremely inflated in Coach mode.

                          IMO, if someone is seeing upwards of 12 sacks per game, they are trying too many long passes or using plays with long developing routes.

                            You might be right which certainly does explain why its broken and needs a patch. The QB non-action is what is causing the sack. They will hold the ball forever in some cases...especially on the longer routes. They need to enhance the logic so QBs throw the ball away or get rid of it faster. Something is off for sure. The long passes should be viable routes and QBs should have better timing on them with the receiver. I am tired of seeing 6 yard completions all the time. Yes, they do make longer throws but as you said, it can usually wind up in a sack.

                            So as not to infuriate people who don't see this when they play, I am talking COACH mode.

                              I always had good results from boosting the IG slider to 75 / 80 with both Madden and NCAA for both the PS2 and PS3 eras...

                              Otherwise, CPU QB holds on to the ball to long, trying to make a play and takes a sack in the process...

                              Granted, I haven't played PS4 version yet, and from what I'm reading penalties are not as responsive, but it's worth a shot...
