I wish these two could play next week instead of a month from now. Right now I'd take Auburn. They just have everything going there way.SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

Second straight year where I have to pick a lesser evil and root for that.

I don't mind Florida State because they hate Florida as much as we do. I don't mind Auburn because they hate Alabama as much as we do. Decisions, decisions.
Leaning FSU at this point, but I don't see them stopping Auburn's run game. I don't see Auburn's defense stopping Winston either. But he can do that himself with an off night. He's going to have to bring his A game.Comment

Initial Impressions: FSU will win but it will probably be their closest game of the year.
Auburn has a chance if they can put pressure on Winston as he's just a redshirt Freshman. Yes, he's looked awesome this year but as witnessed early on in the ACC Championship game he seemed to be tight. The BCS Championship will be the biggest game of his life so he's going to start off nervous as hell. As for the pressure that Auburn will need to apply? It doesn't necessarily have to be in the form of sacks or knock downs but rather make Winston scramble a bit and collapse the pocket on him. If they can force a turnover or two it'll be to their benefit.
However, in the end I see Winston overcoming any tightness or pressure brought to bear by the Auburn defensive front as he can turn to the run game to loosen the defense up which will open up the passing game. FSU is too deep a team to lose this game IMO.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

I'm not a fan of either team but I think if they played tomorrow Auburn would win handily. There is just no stopping their run game right now. I was pulling for Mizzou since I had seen them in person and was impressed, but that Auburn run game is just way too much for anyone right now. What's working against Auburn is their defense.

They'll give FSU hell even if it isn't tomorrow. It should be a good game, but if Auburn's OL starts off dominating in the trenches, FSU will just have to hold serve. The thing with passing a lot though is eventually the defense is going to make a play. Should be a great game.Comment

Re: BCS Championship: #1 Florida State (13-0) vs. #2 Auburn (12-1) | 1/6 8:30 EST
These long layoffs typically hurt offensively based teams more than ones that can play defense. FSU seems to be the more complete team to me. Auburn's run game is insanely good, but we've seen these incredible offenses struggle in bowl games because of the long period without game action. FSU has played defense at a pretty high level all year, which can't be said for Auburn.
Then there's the Heisman hangover. It's pretty much a done deal that Jameis will win the Heisman next weekend, and have to go through the banquet tour. It didn't affect Manziel last year as he tore up Oklahoma in the Cotton Bowl, so maybe this is a fallacy. Jameis seems to have a good head on him and has handled the spotlight well all year.
I think FSU is just better, but I think their team is set up to handle the layoff better as well (which may ultimately be more important), so my early prediction is FSU.Comment

FSU strikes me as one of the few teams that has the talent at corner to go strictly man to man on Auburn's wideouts and bring the safeties down for run support.
I'll take Florida State, 38-24.Comment
