No more bouncing puck?

Heard a report that it was fixed with this last roster update, #6. Tried one game last night, seemed normal, but didnt get enough sample size.

Anyone else got this update and can comment?

I really hope this is true. If it is, I might get back into NHL 14. I refuse to play it until this issue is addressed. Was there an update?

I don't think they could fix it with a roster update. It would have to be a fix in a patch.

They have fixed issues before in a roster update.

Will it work with any roster of we gotta use 6 for that? Im using the first update with bunches of edits.

I doubt it. I don't know why EA releases fixes like this. It would make much more sense in a tuner, update, or patch.

If I remember correctly roster update #4 fixed the goalie issue. For those not aware, backup goalies start about half the games in a Be A GM mode and sometimes even more than the starter. For me, this was a deal-breaker. A roster update fixed this problem but you had to use the roster which contained the fix.

So now for me to take advantage of the goalie fix and the elimination of the bouncing puck I'd have to use the latest roster and start a new Be A GM. Which, mind you, would not be too big of a deal because I only got about 20 games into a season before I noticed I was facing the opposing team's backup goalies way too often.

just loaded up, downloaded roster update #6.

made sure it was loaded, so i went in and loaded it manually.

started a game, won face off to LD, skated to red line and dumped it, puck bounced off ice and up into the corner/glass 10 feet in air etc.

with that said, it didnt seem to take those extra 2 or 3 bounces. players gathered the puck up quicker. i dunno, i could just be seeing things, but the initial dump in general shouldn't act that way anyway. sigh!

Actually the goalie fix from roster #4 fixed it for the older rosters as well. I tested it with default, it worked. So hopefully it will be the same thing with the basketball-like bouncing pucks. Gonna check it out when the lil' man goes to bed.

Im noticing a huge difference in Play Now mode playing with Roster 6. Less bouncing on dump ins, less skipping over sticks when its shot around the boards, so far seems fixed but Ill keep playing til Im sure.

Played my 2030 BEAGM which started on Roster 2 or 3, might be applied to that? Havnt had any 10 foot lofters yet, some dump ins have bounced pretty high, but nothing like the 2-3 skipping then fly 10 feet like before.

Might be happy, but Ill keep playing.

I notice though, Im saying WTF alot less after doing some slider adjustments and since this update.

It looks like the bouncing puck is gone which is good because that led to so much frustration on my part. The CPU always got the moon bounce in the corner. With that gone, it feels like hockey in the corners again.

I can confirm it only applies to new modes created now using Roster 6. Still moon shots on my BEAGM started with Roster 2 or 3.

I'm way behind the times, this is my first NHL where I'm connected to download updates etc. Can someone please tell me if this is correct:

Roster Updates have zero effect if you've already started a Be A GM
But Patches/Tuners do

Am I correct in saying this? I am past the point of no return with my Be A GM. I am not starting a new one. So trying to figure out what type of downloads will actually have an effect on my Dynasty.

If they are fixing bugs in roster updates, it's actually kind of genius of them financially. I may be wrong, but I think I remember reading that they get charged per title update after a certain point. So if they can sneak in fixes during the season without going the title update route it allows them to save quite a bit of money.

That being said, if this is case I would gladly accept roster updates more often if it means a better game in the long run (wishful thinking)

played 6 online vs games against buds of mine yesterday. obviously using roster 6, every flip dump into the zone the puck bounced just as crazy as ever. this has not be fixed via this roster update.
