Year in, year out, I play my career hoping to get on my favorite team and year after year, or best player, ends up being one of the worst. I have edited dirk to make him more realistic but it seems even with boosts to his stamina, low post offense, and even bumping his consistency, nothing. It is hilarious to me that centers like Dwight Howard or Greg oden have better turn around jumpers than dirk. Not only do they go in more often, but it seems this year dirks patented shot gets blocked more often than it goes in. Can someone please help me understand why my favorite player is the only "star" in this league that sucks worse than most backups? Right now Dirk is averaging 14ppg on 43% from the field. Appalling.

I have to agree with OP on this one. Dirk is incredibly hard to use, his jumper is ridiculously cumbersome and it shouldn't take that much 'skill' to use an elite player imo. This is coming from a diehard bulls fan by the way. I was happy when I got him in MyTeam, but ended up selling him because I was waaay too inconsistent with him. It's so bad it almost seems like a glitch. I made a PF that got drafted to the Mavs. Everyone played like themselves but Dirk was HORRIBLE. Conspicuously so. He wouldn't take open threes. Rarely made a move in the post. He was actually shooting 50% but only averaging about 8ppg and there were no plays drawn up for him. We had a winning record and My Player was quickly becoming the best PF/C in the league, but Monta Ellis was our best player that wasn't me.
My 2nd character got drafted to the Bulls and Derrick Rose is a beast, playing exactly like himself if not better. He's 2nd in the league in scoring and bails us out of several bad plays. It's like night and day.Comment

And you know.. It wouldn't be so bad if the difference between monta and Dirk was so vast. Monta plays exactly as he should. He's a much improved shooter this season and they nailed his tendencies cutting to the basket and finishing with either hand or drawing the foul. Dirk just stands there looking at the basket or totally bricks the shoot. I wouldn't be so mad if the pick and pop game worked. Dirk is one of it not the best midrange shooting big man in the history of the league. How do you drop that ball?Comment

Lol... I appreciate your attempt to troll me. It's cute, actually. But yes, the most popular game mode in 2k14 ng or cg is my career. So, obviously there are going to be 4 other CPU controlled players on the court with you. My question isn't about the ai in question for most other players because everyone knows that a CPU vs. User controlled player are going to yield different results. The question that I had, which obviously eluded you, was why there was a stark difference between every other CPU player and their real life counterparts and Dirk. Just about every marquee name you know from the NBA plays similar to their video game self, but Dirk when reliant solely on CPU ai is trash.
Note, if you care to have a rational conversation about this it would be appreciated but your ignorance has no place here among the adults.Comment

I just got done editing the Mavs, 2K gave him the "just another big" treatment and his tendencies don't reflect his play style much. Here are tendencies you should edit to drastically improve dirks performance on court.
DTL:15
Pull up: 75
TT Shot: 50
NO TT: 90-100
No setup dribbles
Half Spin 5 and step back 15. The rest of the dribble tendencies are 0. 100 in simple drive
Attack: 80
Pass out: 35
Spin & fade shot 100
Step back shot 50
Post up tendency 30
Post moves: spin tendency should be the highest at 20.
Post shots: 100 for everything except
Hook:10
Shimmy:10

You mean the tendencies 2k should edit. Because this is MyCareer.
Additionally, it seems in 2k that 2k favors players on the drive way more than post players this year.
If I pass it to a post player he immediately passes back, sometimes even when he's almost right under the basket and there's less than 5 seconds left on the clock. In MyCareer games players almost never get called for Dwight Howard. I have to get him his shots either when he's completely and utterly open, or when there's 2 seconds left on the shot clock.
Meanwhile there are random wings with high shooting tendencies like Jeremy Lamb scoring 17 ppg on 45%+ shooting...
