Could someone shine some light on at least one of these things? I'm really confused.

I have looked here and google for similar threads and can't find anything.
Sometimes I feel like my game may actually be broken so I need to know if these things happen to other people or if it's just something I'm missing

1. Lead passing. I was absurdly efficient on last gen but now it's nearly impossible to get a lead pass in the right situation

2. Passes are slow as death. After I hit a button a slow passing animation will take place and I never seem to be able to whip the ball quickly to where it needs to go. The passes are so slow a defender not even originally guarding the man I passed to has time to get into position and tip the pass. What gives?

3. Quick plays. How? I can bring up quick ISO and quick post up with the touch pad. I can bring up quick pick and rolls when the microphone works. Is there seriously not an easier way to do this?

4. Playbooks. They all show up as different Playbooks but as soon as I'm in the game itself and call a play it goes to some default playbook and I've been running the same ineffective plays for a month now.

Despite all of this I love the game but those are pretty big barriers in terms of being able to get the most out of this experience. Thanks for the help in advance.

Playbooks r glitched, once u start a game it defaults to the 76ers playbook. If u want to run diff plays u have to edit the 76ers playbook to the team's plays u really want.

For quick plays press left on the d pad then press R2, its not quick at all but that's how u get the quick play menu.

Only thing I can say about passing is try to tweak the sliders, defenders r pretty psychic anyway so lead passing is usually ineffective. I can lead players when using icon passing by pressing the left analog in the direction I want the player to b lead. Hope this helps.

With passing, reduce the CPU's 'hands' attribute and 'play passing lanes' tendency.

But yeah, passing has been horrendous in 2K. Its like throwing balls of fluff around

yea it's much worse online, imo.

go online. and play 'man-to-man' defense for a few trips up the court.

#4 makes me want to punch myself in the face. So does #1 and #2. Man you really just make me want to punch myself.

Another question I have: why is it so ridiculously easy for a human player to switch and immediately block a shot? I am getting killed online by the fact that a wide open shot turns into a block because I either get sucked into a ridiculous layup animation that takes 14 seconds or somebody turbo-switches and blocks a wide open jumper.

I admit that I suck online but I feel like I need to learn skills that have nothing at all to do with real basketball, but just how to counter all the cheese that people do. I refuse to cheese. I don't do the stupid charge crap. I wish I could figure out how people are so amazing at blocks inside though. Even with good position I always seem to get called for fouls. And it's especially frustrating that with John Wall I still can't seem to make any layups or get fouls. I just don't get it.

Anyway rant aside, I have no answers for you, just more questions....

I have no problem with the CPUs defense or lead passes. It went from horrible to NBAish. That is progress in my book. You can still get lead passes you just have to have them beat by more.

I have no probs with nerfing the lead passing aswell.

But in terms of passing, they dont give us a heap of options.

It's funny when a pass gets deflected and goes back court. The ball floats down at about 2mph and you could write a novel in the time it takes for the players to catch up to it, interesting considering how SLOW the ball is. It seems game speed does not affect the ball speed, I have it set to 60 and the ball is still stupidly slow, there's no way to run an offense that has a lot of passing. Either a floaty pass will get intercepted or the CPU will 1.) run the wrong way the moment you pass them the ball, or 2.) end up taking a few steps too far beyond the arc or their shooting range, especially problematic for players with lower ball handling ratings.

I don't have a problem lead passing at all. I don't really have issues passing in general. Whenever I throw a bad pass and turn it over its usually 99% my fault.

Are you cutting your teammates to the hoop when trying to lead them or passing to them while they're driving/move?

I like how the game makes you use the bounce pass. Sometimes I know a normal pass won't make it through so I bounce it through two defenders for an assist. I'm getting 18+ assists a game and leading the league on Superstar difficulty. I play 12 minute quarters though.

Yep you're right.

I said a while ago that passing is the next big thing they need to sort.

Ball movement has always been poor in 2K; the defensive bump animations and poor passing was the reason. Through sliders Ive reduced the bumps, but the passing is still yuck.

It's ok for drive and kicks, but poor when you want to really kick the ball around as the Spurs do

We have options. You can send players back door, lead them anywhere, bounce, fancy, lobs, icon, fake.

There are some flaws
There are problems with lobs and the overall lack of crispness. Much of that could be remedied with better rosters, off ball movement, and unbroken plays.

And better logic for A button passing. I rarely get the pass to go to the player I want unless I use icon passing. Very rarely. And this, of course, slows down gameplay by requiring an extra button press and can cause confusion when I'm used to one player being at a certain position, i.e. having Korver open for 3 at the 3 slot but instead of pressing X I press B.
