    dpower15's X1 Draft Class

    Hey everyone,

I've put my roster editing on hold for now while we wait to see how much, if at all, patch 3 will be affecting MyGM. Instead I'll be working on a 2014 draft class in the mean time. The ratings are going to be geared toward my rosters in particular, but I think they will also work well with SuperNova's.

    Current progress:

Adding players to their most accurate generated player models. I'm going down the line so the big time guys will have the closest (if possible) faces I can find, and as I get farther in the draft the faces will be a bit less accurate. Not ideal, but it's about all I have to work with at this point with how the draft class editing is structured.

I've got somewhere around 20-25 guys done so far. Ratings have only been done for Wiggins, Parker, Randle and Embiid to this point.

I'd like to find one or two people to help out with the ratings, sig shots, tendencies etc. as I am by no means an expert on all of these players in the draft class.

My gamertag is Heatology. Feel free to download and suggest any specific faces for players in the draft class. Just please name the generic player now and who you'd like me to edit in as that player.

Draftexpress has some advanced stats for college players but you have to be careful with those advanced stats. A lot of that stuff doesnt transfer to the league.

Yeah I'm trying to get the base stats in decent shape first, then I'll move to playing with tendencies.

If I can get the order to play out pretty well, the players to progress reasonably, keep the league balanced (i.e. A few stars, some solid starters, some role players, etc.) and get realistic stats for sims I'll be happy. If anyone watches the guys enough, even if it's just all the players on one team, to give input on ratings and tendencies please feel free to let me know. Like I said, I'm not an expert on how all these guys get their stats, I'm just trying to give them the right ratings and tendencies to reproduce them (as translated to the NBA vs college stats)

Thanks I appreciate it. Feel free to post suggestions for players to add, sig shots, tendencies, really anything. I'm all for making this class as good as it can be, and for not making it just a cookie cutter class.

I've decided to keep a couple guys out of the class for now. One is going to be controversial and up for debate, but as of know I'm leaning toward keeping Aaron Gordon out. While Arizona is #1, he's dropped pretty far in mock drafts lately and I could see that translating into him sticking around one more year until this class is gone. I also couldn't find a face anywhere near what he looks like lol. I'm also going to keep James Young out of 2014. Both will be in 2015 if I get around to it.

I think it gives you something to look forward to in the 2015 draft to have a couple fairly big name guys from this class left over for that one. It also will hopefully make these feel a bit more realistic with a few guys staying in school, possibly a couple lottery top guys not panning out too well, a few sleepers for 2nd round with fairly high potential, etc.

It will take awhile to really get these perfected, but I think they will be great once finished.

Dpower - can you highlight for us the "strength" of your class. Without naming specific players (just to not spoil it!).

For example - how many players above 75, how many in 70-75 range. What about potentials? how many players with potential higher than 90? how many with higher than 80? 70?

Just want to see with which roster I should play these with. I like Supernova's roster but I think he might have tone down the ratings a little too much.

I'm hoping to finish by the end of the month. Can't promise it with the holidays, but that's my goal because I'm ready to start MyGM too. Unfortunately between the class and my roster it will take some time, but in my opinion it will be well worth the wait. As I get closer to finishing ill need some people to test them out if you'd be interested.

Just want to see with which roster I should play these with. I like Supernova's roster but I think he might have tone down the ratings a little too much.

I'm working on a roster that will be the perfect mesh for them. From the sims I've run and the couple other roster makers I've spoken with it seems like the ideal potential cap is 85, which should allow guys to reach high 80s/low 90s ratings. That will only be given to a few player in this class, Parker being one of them as in my opinion he is the most sure thing to be a star in this class.

The way I'm editing my rosters is to have 70 overall be your "average" player, so a decent role player basically. With that in mind I'm thinking there will only be maybe 10-15 guys in the class rated 70 or higher straight out of the draft. You just don't see many rookies in steady role player or starter type roles. It also makes it so if a rookie is rated say a 71 and is drafted to a bad team they will get solid play time, but if they are drafted by a deep team like the Bulls, Nuggets, Heat, Spurs, etc. they won't see much floor time until they develop, which is generally how things work out on those type of teams.

As of now only Parker is rated over a 75 in the class, but a 75 with my rosters should translate to being a solid starter on a lottery team. There are 3-4 others who are near 75, and like I said maybe 15 at the most that will be 70 or higher. Most of the 2nd rounders will be rated between 64-67. By keeping their ratings close I'm hoping it will let the late 1st round (pick 27 or so and on) and entire 2nd round play out much differently each time, as it is pretty much always a crapshoot and impossible to project in the real draft.

You can preview where I'm at with the roster now, my gt is Heatology and the roster is []. I've only completed the 76ers-Celtics, with a few random player edits here and there on other teams. I'm still playing with it to see how much I can adjust the ratings after the recent patch, so it's still subject to change.

The prospects, who are already in your draft class like e.g.Parker, Wiggins, Exum, Robinson are they completly edited?(tendencies, accesoires, jumpshots etc)

No. Their ratings are pretty much done, but that's about it. I think the tendencies are close to done for the top guys, but I still need to do jump shots for everybody. Like I said there isa. Lot of work still to be done and it will take a fair amount of time, but I think once I'm done with both the class and roster it will really be great. As of now I'm going to work on the roster first so I can get a better feel for how I need to set ratings and tendencies, then I'll continue with the class.

I'll also still need to run some multi season sims down the road to make sure the draft order plays out decently, the stats are reasonable, and the guys progress as I intended.

If anyone can post pics or links I can use for accessories, jumpshots, etc. I'd definitely appreciate it. It's a lot of work to have to research all of that for 80 guys in the draft class.

Also keep in mind that I'm doing all of this editing while having a full time career in real estate, so I only have maybe a couple hours per day at the most to devote to the editing.
