Honestly at a loss for words who the hell is doing QA for these patches far as I can tell everything is still buggy! Custom playbook crazy huddle glitch, graphic issues e.g ankle tape, wrong person running to huddle after QB announcement WTF!

If I could find that art director from those next gen promotional videos he would be immediately FIRED. All lies from EA! Damn ;/

Madden NFL 25 Title Update #2 Available Now (Xbox One, PS4)

I've said it once and I'll say it again: if EA was really planning to make a change for this generation, they wouldn't have gone with Tiburon as the developer. I saw the writing on the wall. What did Tiburon do? They slapped shiny helmets on the players, made the grass look better, and called the game Next Gen

This crap is going to continue to happen as long as EA has exclusive rights, because they are no longer trying, and if they are, then they are just downright incompetent.

I have just about had with EA. I've officially blacklisted their games and will not buy any of them except for football. NCAA is gone. Madden is on the chopping block.

so all the dropped passes over the middle by the cpu were already there? hmmmmmm.....LOL

Now you're just hating. There's nothing wrong with not liking the game but you can't blatantly ignore things. They added in True-Step, upgraded the physics, improved o-line/d-line, and made the CPU defense better.

          They are obviously trying.

It's not hating. That term gets used far too often to describe opinions. The fact that any of those things you mentioned are even considered a big deal (with most of them having been done before and better in the past) is more a reflection on how fans have been conditioned to accept mediocrity, and in increments to boot. Those things should've been in Madden 06 when you consider how far football games were ahead prior to the exclusive license disaster. The sky was the limit in 2004. And technically, real-time physics were supposed to be in Madden 06 for 360 as they had started development with Havok, but it failed and never made it into the game.

Most of these things could've been done last gen, heck, 2 gens ago in fact (and many were), and its seems fairly obvious that they started scaling back or purposely screwing some things up on last gen so that next gen would stand out. I mean, helmets suddenly going dull the past couple years, and replays being completely butchered, neither being patched, and then suddenly seeing both things appear magically returned to their past state on XB1/PS4, makes it pretty clear what they were doing.

If Tiburon wanted to convince us they were really trying, they would've taken the time to rebuild this game rather than continue on with its incremental tweaking operation that's now almost 10 years running of an outdated engine.

            -------

All of the above being said, Madden 25 plays a lot better after the patches. Same can be said for the last gen version. But people buying Madden regularly have to be frustrated by how it takes months waiting on patches for the game to play respectably, and even then there are often tons of issues. The low sales numbers are a good indication that people have had enough, and if the sales remain on its current projection there is going to be some major personnel fallout. Like Madden 11 level fallout.

Nobody connected with Madden or the NFL can be pleased with the knowledge that a Basketball game (even with all of its problems) is neck-and-neck sales-wise on XB1/PS4 with an NFL licensed football game in a rabidly NFL football-hungry country and has outsold Madden on consoles in some years (NBA 2K13 over Madden 13). It doesn't even sound possible, but it is actually happening.

No brother, I am not hating. This is trend is as consistent as any in gaming. EA simply does not test their games. I mean how ridiculous is it that installing the patch always breaks something else?

I absolutely can't believe that EA has brought this same broken process over from last generation. Was it trying that EA simply ported the old outdated engine instead of re-writing a new one? Was it trying that EA releases a patch with an issue so apparent as a safety running out to the huddle under a quarterback's introduction lines? Was it trying that EA has nerfed the defense to the point of the game being almost unplayable? Look at the sidelines. They call this living worlds? Are you serious? Is it trying that EA continuously releases a game with broken sliders. How much has been done to fix the penalties we have been screaming about, since 2007? As a matter of fact, when has a Madden developer ever mentioned anything pertaining to penalties. What the hell is clipping anyway? When is the last time you have seen it called that way in a real life NFL game?

Oh, but wait, this game according to EA, took two years to write, yet many of the major legacy issues came over with it.

EA has started the same cycle of releasing games with defects and then releasing patches that break the games to the point of almost being unplayable, because they don't test the patches before releasing them. EA claimed they were more ready than ever for this next generation cycle. Are they really?

Any person who can think, can see that this is the same game with a few so called" upgrades.

All this power in a system, and weather has no affect whatsoever on game play. I see sideline cuts of the crowd and staff in shorts, during a game played in 28 degree weather.

Do you really think that true-step was not possible in current gen?

I doubt without competition, this next cycle plays out any differently than the last.

It is not hate that EA continuously, year after year, puts out the least effort of any game developer in the industry. They are the least innovative, and simply re-hash the same game over and over. It is not hate that release after release presents this same cycle of releasing patches that break the game. It's like a boat hull with a hole in it. They are constantly bailing water, but no one is bothering to fix the hole.

Sadly, EA is the only developer allowed to release a licensed football game. Enough said...

Gosh man... I just want to see someone else, given the opportunity to develop a licensed football game. Every time I hear the name EA, I want to vomit.

EA does test their games. And some of this stuff is pointed out by their testers. It's just that sometimes it gets shot down or what they called K S'ed. So they just release the game knowing the crap is there.

Finally got around to starting my CCM,and the 1st thing I wanted to see if these issues showed up.

During the cutscenes, both the correct starting QB's came onto the field,so no issues there...I also did have to punt, and the Giant receiver fielded the punt as usual at about the 14 yard line,so again...no issues there.

So for those that are seeing this, not sure what the problem is.

A lot of gamers don't realize that.

What gamers want and what a major gaming company is motivated to do--for whatever reasons they are motivated to do it--are typically diametrically opposed in this era of gaming. The old guard era of EA cancelling a Madden because of a mountain of bugs (Madden '96 PS1) is long gone, and if anyone disputes that they should go check out Madden 06 and Madden 08, two of the most broken football games ever produced. Not to say any Madden's have been THAT buggy since 06 and 08, but just making the point that almost nothing short of outright apocalypse would really stop Madden from releasing in this gaming era.

Right, and EA, for all I care can release the any level of trash they want. The problem lies in making us buy their trash, by obtaining some exclusive license that completely eliminates worthy game developers from providing their representation of a licensed football title. It's sickening!

Im not even sure about these patches and just play offline but whatever happened to a game being unbroken right straight out of the box! NFL football is KING and our video game should be a representation of that! We've all lived with mediocrity for the last 10yrs and its been too long! You would figure that out of all the smart people on this site (So many great minds on this site!!) that someone would figure out a way to get the attention of the NFL and have something done about this! But I can only dream!

                          Quick question.

I have an unwrapped Christmas gift under the tree that looks suspiciously like a ps4 (lol) so I will be playing this in a couple days.

My question is though, was there a day one patch or is this the first one (can't keep it all straight)?

There was a day one patch so I believe this is the second patch.

Raised the run blocking a little and lowered the tackling a little and now I have fixed the problems the patch caused. Game is once again back to being enjoyable.
