Easy slider set for older gamer?

Hope this doesn't sound like a cop out, but I'm looking for a set or suggestion on a slider set or gameplay settings for a guy like me.

Frankly, I am pretty woeful and don't have the time to perfect moves and actions, etc. I've played on pro sim and also tried jw55 all star on skylers roster set. I play alright but I turn the ball over way too much. Had 23 turnovers against the kings and 20-25 seems roughly to be my average.

The reason for this is that I don't make use of the icon passing. I just point in the general direction and pass, however, this sometimes leads to cross court passes or inside passes that get stolen.

Next thing I'm going to try is probably one of the allstar or superstar sets and just put it down a level to pro, and see how that goes.

Any tips? I just turn the ball over too much. My default move is the pump fake. I rarely use the shot stick. I'm just an old school gamer. Shoot, pass, turbo. Steal, block, change defender. Pick may venture to try other moves but I'm a slow learner.

If only this game had coach mode. I'd be in heaven.

How about using icon passing instead of trying different sets as the sets aren't the problem its your game play as you stated.

Play on Pro/Sim and use icon passing, take your time, play real basketball and you'll be fine.

      Try Pro/Casual, no?

        Good suggestions. Thanks guys.

I don't think playing on casual is an option since I like to play full 12min quarters and also have realistic performances (not insanely high shooting percentages and stuff)

I'll keep cracking on with pro sim and make some minor adjustments which I've seen sword post in another thread.

I think you are right, gone are the simple three button days, need to step my game up and play a slower more realistic type of ball.

        Cheers

my suggestion,, leave the CPU sliders on Pro/Default or Simulation (make adjustments as you see fit). then set your sliders to casual. passing, dribbling, shooting, etc will be a lot easier. then when you notice you making too many shots or making easy passes, you can adjust what need be and just play.

            Tarek,

I'm in the same boat! I was playing on Pro and it was getting too easy, then I put it on All-Star and the cpu started playing unrealistic, cpu turned into the Matrix knocking balls down they didn't even know were coming. I went back to pro and I'll tweak sliders from the there.

i lost on simulation rookie of all things last night i used the bulls the computer was the pistons. i didnt mess with any sliders. tonight im playing default rookie and up by ten with pacers over hawks at halftime. i played on pro simulation last night and was getting killed by 25. i would rather play on pro simulation though. the stats on rookie are far from realistic so i dont want to start a career or gm mode till i find a mode that makes it realistic.im 49 so my relexes may be slowing down .always seems the nba 2 k games are hard against the computer since back to when i had it on the dreamcast.

Play on a slower game speed. I play on 38. Also, use cameras like Drive and 2K cam. Play a game and see what your strength and weaknesses are. You said you're a bad passer. Raise the Pass Accuracy slider to 60. If you are a terrible perimeter defender, lower the CPU shot success sliders to 45 (or lower).

Realism is an illusion. Off topic, I play on All Star with my own sliders, because I like challenge.

                  Inside Shot 35
                  Close Shot 35
                  Midrange 35
                  3PT 35
                  Layup 35

                  Driving Contact 100
                  Inside Contact 100
                  Layup Takeoff and Release 70
                  Jumpshot Gather and Release 70

                  Fatigue Rate 60

It's a clank fest, but plays really well. Percentages are in the 30s-40s.
