Poll: Can You Play the Game?

I'm curious to find out what everyone's status is with the game. Check out the poll, and explain your response in the comments!

This is NOT about whether you like the gameplay, VC, the menus or other elements of the game as it is designed.

This is just about whether or not the game actually works when you try to play it.

I'll start with my vote:

I voted "No - I can play some modes by my favorite mode is broken and I can't advance due to bugs."

That's because I got hit with the MyGM playoffglitch before Christmas and have not been able to play MyGM since. That's the only mode I play. I haven't even experienced the server issues this past week because, why log on in the first place?

Yes - but software issues make it a frustrating experience (example, no custom rosters, or the MyGM contract negotiations glitch)

I only play My Career, and I started my save file offline so the server issues people are dealing with don't affect me. However, sponsorship rewards don't appear to have taken effect, and other sponsors offers fall through despite my having met the requirements (Sprite and Gatorade) - not sure if this is a scripted thing or a bug, though.

The things that have been frustrating to me is the online leagues don't seem to be working, NBA Today my favorite Mode is down right now. I always love playing all the big Games in the real NBA.

Yeah, I've been seeing that and a lot of other issues pop up here in the threads but what I haven't been able to figure out is how common all these things are.

Doing this poll was my way of trying to figure out how pervasive any of these core technical issues are for people trying to play the game.

Granted, this is going to be a biased sample, probably of people frustrated with the game. People who can just play the game are sitting at home playing it.

But then again, historically, the NBA 2k OS forum has had a lot of people who love the game and play it a lot. So those people are mostly still around. They'd probably say if they can play the game without any problems.

For me it works. Had crashes back the title screen yesterday because the servers are acting up.
But up until tomorrow every mode and game has worked flawless. No crashes at all.

Only 25 responses, but these results for 2K are actually worse than I expected.

I mean, those results say almost everyone finds the game broken and unplayable some or all of the time.

I can play the game, but I haven't recently because being able to run plays and edit rotations are a necessity to me, and well…I can't do either. Now I'm just kind of waiting till hopefully another patch fixes this.

Can only play a quick game.No My GM or My Player just goes back to menu screen every time you try and load your save file.Also cant delete any previous files to start again as I am on Xbox One.
So essentially the two modes I payed to play most I haven't been able to play for the last few weeks.

I can play everything but MYTEAM, and can even get a game of that in But it's RARE.

I only play MyGM so I can't say that everything works but I can play it without any of the troubles that many are seeing. The last issue I had was the contract negotiation thing but there is a workaround for that now. At this point MyGM works perfectly for me.

That's not a correct assessment. Most people don't even bother commenting or participating in polls and questions like these, so no matter what the poll tells us the sample size will be too small to be anywhere near actual fact.

Nothing in what I wrote assumes a representative sample, and nothing I wrote attempts to generalize from these results beyond describing the responses on hand.

It is true that the results were worse than I expected. And the results of the people who responded do say that almost all of them find the game broken or unplayable some or all of the time. And that's what I wrote.

I can play, but the game is really frustrating. All I want to do is be able to play a quick game with skylerc or turty11's custom rosters with all the players and injuries turned off. The fact that there is no CAP and injuries are permanent makes this impossible.

Please 2k, instead of lowering overalls down to 25, just remove the injured players from the rotation. Give us CAP back, and let us save to the hard drive. Frankly, if there is no CAP or if injuries are permanent, I won't be buying next year.
