Fifa catalog - gifting

I got NG fifa for Xmas and it smoothly transitioned all my FFC, level, catalog items, fut info, etc.

Really cool how easy that is to do.

But now I am having an issue with gifts. A friend on 360 sent me some of the single pairs of boots, about 6 of them. I could not collect them on Xbox one. Good thing I still have my 360. I fired it up and it showed me the gift screens and I got the items.

I then started up the xbox one and everything updated nicely except 2 pairs of boots I was gifted did not unlock.

Luckily I took photos of the gifted items with my phone. I also took screenshots of the news feed that listed the user gifted you <item> in the fut app.

I did that because when the brazuca was released I was gifted that item and it too disappeared. The odd thing with the brazuca was that before I was gifted it, I bought it on the fut market. Previously all balls bought on fut also unlocked for gameplay outside of fut. The brazuca did not. I still have the one in fut but I do not have the gifted brazuca for exhibition.

Very odd behavior.

Just curious if anyone else has had this happen to them?

I have put in 2 help tickets to ea but it seems that they are all still on vacation.

The catalog has tons of problems so it's probably a common occurence. EA are usually useless even when it comes to things like Ultimate Team hackings so I don't think you'll get much support on a 'minor' issue like this from them.

We're still waiting for UT coin boosts to be put back in so it probably won't be addressed for a while if it is a common problem.

Thanks for the info.

Yeah I had an issue with season ticket packs not appearing in some other games like nhl and ncaa and it took 17 emails and phone calls for ea to figure it out. They never were like ok we fixed it, just after about 3 weeks absence the packs showed up again. I have no idea if I get credited for the missed weeks, I would say no.

The funny thing here is of course the FFC is lost...if the gift wasn't successfully unlocked and it gave back the FFC this would not be an issue.

Yeah unfortunately they usually only rectify an issue if it's losing them money. Though even in that respect they are being lazy now, I and many other people who bought a season ticket last year but didn't this year are still receiving season ticket packs for free.

any 100+ levelers out there that would be willing to gift the "online pro" high socks?...

so annoyed that the high socks basically became a non-item for me now unless I magically find someone who is actually over level 100...

I am a ways from there but if nobody helps you I will do it. I am only at 40 now so it will be awhile.

I hate that stuff is locked away in this game. The whole boots situation is ridiculous. That seems like it should just be locks away for be a pro.

I mean something as simple as putting the right boots on Kevin Nolan is a hassle because you have to buy them to apply them. Meanwhile if ea just did it in a squad update they can put whatever boots on they want. Silly.

High socks level 100. Amazing. An option that matters but not a big deal (like why bother locking it) for be a pro locked out until level 100. Sigh.

I've been playing a decent amount of career mode (decent for me at least, don't really have all that much time to play) and I just hit level 15. All I want is the Inter alternate kit, but I won't unlock that til level 37 which I may never hit. The items already cost 'points' or whatever, seems over the top to also level-lock them. Especially for stuff like kits, socks, balls, etc.

The progression is fairly slow too, I got up to level 40s in Fifa 12 when they first introduced it but only got up to 57 in 13 and I've only made it to 59 to so far in 14. I'd say I play the game a lot too so it's a bit annoying.

Yeah it's truly a grind leveling up.

One other strange thing I noticed. There are a fair amount of nike boots that are in the game but not assignable in player edit nor unlockable in the catalog.

Come on EA. If you want to see for yourself go play real sociedad. I played them last night and paused after the second pair of nikes I saw where I thought hmm never seen those. I then went into replay and went player to player and there were 4 types of nikes on sociedad alone that we can't use ourselves.

What a strange choice by ea.

Interesting... Don't think I've ever noticed boots that weren't available anywhere
