MLB The Show 14 release date

So went into my local Gamestop today as I do every year on Jan 1st to reserve my copy of The Show. So I ask the guy when is the release date for The Show and he looks it up and says on ALL formats right now he has a release date of April 1st! April 1st? SCEA please say this ain't so I traded in my PS3 for a PS4 a couple months ago and just bought a PS3 again cause I had heard the PS4 version was April or May and didn't want to wait that long! I hope we hear some news soon when the official date is cause this news didn't start my New Year off on the right foot!

I personally would be in favor of this. I hate waiting a month to start my franchise. Ever year there are trades/signings just before the season starts. Pluss I am sure it will go he them a coupl more weeks to help the game.

I always use march for calibrating my slider settings. Playing 30-40 games just hitting to do my hitting sliders, then playing 30-40 games just pitching to do my pitching sliders.

When the season starts in real life, my sliders are set, and I can start my franchise.

On top of that, an april release would mean a may release for the OSFM roster, which is 2 months into the real season...

I don't know how this will really affect us who contribute to the OSFM set. Last year, it took me around 3 weeks to create over 35 players for the mets system (I did all the faces and gear edits and stances/motions for them). So we could be talking about mid June when everybody can start a franchise with the OSFM set. It will stink, but it's only for this launch year.

I've said this before but this is just a placeholder. All it means is that an official release date has not been released and they have set dates they enter. Until SCEA comes out and announces something official no one knows for sure.

You are correct it is a place holder and the actual release date is in May I think.

Yeah but don't we normally need a month for OSFM rosters? so it would be about June before we get them out. that whole March is great for getting them done just before the season starts


stores I have seen have it up as March 28 so who knows


we might be lucky though the PS3 rosters could be the same as ps4 like game saves are?? I doubt it though unless the graphics are the same values just improved from the faces

The release date for The Show has always been early March. Last year's game came out on March 5th. With that in mind I expect this year's game to be out March 4th or March 11th.

Hey, it could be worse. Amazon says the game comes out December 31.

Tuesdays are traditionally it has always come out on a Tuesday. usually the first Tuesday in the month of March. which would be fine by my cause i have those next four days off after that.. but i will probably be sticking it out with 13 until i can afford the PS4 and the show 14.

Reason being is that now that we can import our previous franchises from 14 to 15 and so on down the road it wont matter for those of us that don't use the OSFM Rosters every year.

Which tells me that who ever uses those rosters every year will NOT be able to utilize this feature... or am i mistaken on that?

has this been discussed between the Dev team and the roster geeks??

The release date for The Show has always been early March. Last year's game came out on March 5th. With that in mind I expect this year's game to be out March 4th or March 11th.

Actually, The first PS3 version was released in May.

It wouldn't surprise me if this year's version will be a late release given an additional system they have to develop for. I'd say an April or May release isn't all that far-fetched.

If I remember correctly, the show 07 did not come out for the ps3 version until May or so.

You're right. However, the PS2 version still came out on time. So I expect the same. The PS3 version will come out in early March and the PS4 version will come out in May I'd assume. As long as there is some kind of upgrade promotion like the current to next gen versions of Call of Duty, Battlefield, Assassin's Creed, etc., I don't care if the PS4 version comes out late. I'll be buying the PS3 and Vita versions the day they are available.
