Ruined Myteam mode

So its apparent we cant have anything nice. Those of you who put all bronze players in and just pause and let timer run down, are the ones im speaking with. You doing that over and over so you can farm points so you can get every 95 rated player, so you can just paintsmash over and over.

You ruined the game. Its that simple, so all you guys who ask for 2k to fix this and fix that you ruined this game in myteam.

Facing a team that has 96 rated players starters and bench, doesnt matter how fundamental i play, i cant win.

cause you will paint smash and you will abuse the game, so i do hope you feel good inside when you score 60 points in the paint and rest is three pointers.

I run with Steve Blake, Hersey Hawkins,KD,Lee and Noah. I can hang with you guys just know, im not that impressed. if you can paint smash all game and take advantage of a game.

Yeah this mode sucks and is ruined. Thanks to those who originally posted the pausing idea on these forums. I got on to play today and it 5 of my 7 games were pauses, 1 was a quit and 1 actually finished. Not to even mention the online has some bad input lag and I think I am done with this mode...

I agree, I mainly just play domination and the offline tournaments. Things like this are the reason why I rarely play online at all in NBA 2k. It just seems to be all about using exploits. 2K really needs to find some way to revamp their online...

Someone said earlier that ea has it right with their UT, and I agree. 2k needs to implement more strategy in MYTEAM. It's too easy to get the best players. They make enough money, or you would think they do.

That's a tad generalized, I run with a stacked team but I still play the game the way it's supposed to be played.

Honestly...

All that matters is that regardless of what team you have, you play basketball...

If you have a stacked team and you run plays and do real offense then respect.

If you're the guy that gives a high dunk tendency player the ball the entire game and tries to dunk with him all day, you're a scrub and you get no respect...

The best players are the ones who know every move, how to execute it, and know which plays counter each type of defense.

I dont claim to be the best 2k player but I can score any which way... and thats the key to making the game fun and realistic. Id get bored if I whored all game with LBJ...

You got the people who make up 90% of the player base and those are the ones who get 60+ pts with LBJ in 6min qtrs and think they're great...

Then you got the rare players that can make use of any player because they know their strengths...

Ill bet that alot of people think Dexter Pittman or Kwame Brown are worthless in 2k. I remember I had a guy talking trash to me and I had Royce White at PG. You know how fast he shut up when I proceded to drop 20+ paint points on his PG ?

And before you say that its only because its Royce White, keep in mind Ive dropped 20+ at the point guard position in the paint against countless people who had Ty Lawson, Rondo, etc.

As long as you understand the matchups advantages you have, youll become a much better player...

To give you a quick example...

You have (6'6) Michael Carter Williams going against your opponent who has (5'9) Nate Robinson.

Are you going to (A) take him off the dribble where you play to HIS speed and quick advantage or (B) take him into the post where you play to YOUR size advantage ?

These are decisions you have to make when you play...

Just because a guy has a significant rating advantage doesnt mean he has your player beat. Weight and height are more important than ratings any day any time.

I cant even begin to count how many people Ive beaten who had superior teams to mine simply because they didnt know how to use their players.

My problem with this mode it that there is no real point to building a real fantasy team unless you plan on playing online only. If you play against the computer a lot of the time, you can't use your best lineup. You have to use bronze players in domination mode, the tourneys require all one type (bronze, silver, or gold) of player, and that's it. I also play NBA Live's UT mode, and they have a ton of different challenges and things for you to do with your team (just like they have in MUT).

I wish I could combine 2K's gameplay with EA's UT mode, and add in an auction house like MUT. That would be perfect.

Do you guys have experienced people who lag switch and disconnect leaving you with a lose and waste of contracts? Just happened to me, I was winning by 10 in the last mins after playing the whole game with lag and he just does that and an error appeared saying "the game session no longer exists", I'm so mad, wish I could know the guy id, i forgot it

There is so much lag anyways do to the severs. Playing head to head was doomed without these people.

Someone said earlier that ea has it right with their UT, and I agree. 2k needs to implement more strategy in MYTEAM. It's too easy to get the best players. They make enough money, or you would think they do.

UT is a great mode and would be a good model to build off.

1) salary caps need to be implemented. If you want to have 3 gold players on the team, then you get one silver and the rest of your team needs to be bronze. Make building the team a challenge and a mini-game unto itself.

2) Fix the servers. Playing on-ball defense is next to impossible. I hate doing it because it feels illegitimate, but I play off-ball exclusively because there is just no way to stay in front of your man playing off-ball defense.

3) Fix Domination Mode. The mode has perverse incentives right now in forcing you to use your worst lineup in order to maximize points. You end up having to play cheesy, unrealistic games with no time to run plays. The glitch that lets you reset games to try for the team's best players really hurts the mode as well, as that is, by far, the most efficient way to get players for your team.
