Dude backed off me for the first 4 possessions all the way under the basket. Perfect release 4 possessions in a row from midrange and deep and I brick every one of them. This is ridiculous.

The first thing I'd suggest is turning off shot feedback. The 'perfect release' window is just a general guideline and is pretty much useless if you're not a novice. There is an actual perfect release within the 'perfect release' window but it's far more precise than the meter indicates. Just keep shooting without the meter on and you'll eventually find the true perfect release.

Oh, I turned it off a while ago. My point is that his strategy worked. First possession I pull up to of the key, miss. Second possession same thing, wide open, miss. Next two shots were like 17 feet and missed both of them. 2k is ridiculous.

exactly! 2k14 = opposite land of real basketball.

bottom line is wiiiiiide open shots should get a significant % boost and it seems like the opposite. you're better off shooting with a guy 3 feet away. I don't care if my shot was a tad late, there should be a bit more forgiveness on shot release timing.

There is a reason coaches always breach "don't settle for jump shots".

4 times in a row is a bit silly but jumpers are not considered high percentage shots. Regardless of how open you are.

Lol... I'm not settling if the guy gives me the wide open shot. I can get past anyone, that's not the point. Point is, if you sag off, I should be able to make you pay.
