Before I start my 32-team franchise...

I need some opinions about the options, out of curiosity. And in case it's asked, I'm using 32 active owners.

    1. Salary Cap: On or Off?

    2. Player Progression Frequency: Weekly, Every 4 weeks, or End of season?

Normally, I turn salary cap off so teams aren't stacked after signing free agents. But if I'm in control of all the teams, can't I just do that myself? But at the same time, I feel it would make the free agency process more realistic, having to build a strategy for every team's off season.

As far as player progression, I normally use weekly. The reason is I feel the other two options make it so the players don't progress fast enough. For example, Nick Foles isn't that great with the Week 1 roster update. So if I were to use End of Season or Every 4 weeks, he wouldn't progress into the player he is. BUT, if I use weekly, he'll progress accordingly. The one problem I have with weekly is if a player has a huge game, he gets a lot better. How many times as sports fans have we seen a player have a huge game, and that be the only highlight of his career? I don't know; it's just a thought.

At the end of the day, I understand it all comes down to preference. But I'd like to see what settings the majority of the community uses out of curiosity.

Thank you for all the responses in advance!

salary cap off its just to complicated for 1 person to do 32 unless your father time
and pp on weekly because there are guys that have beakout weeks and that best represents them

If you like to play the game as it's played like in real life than I'd say Cap ON and End of The Yr!

You probably know this already... But pre-existing injuries don't carry over... Every player that is on IR in rosters EA puts out, will be healthy .

I am totally confused.... I thought you could only control one team in any mode? are you saying that there is a 32 total team control mode? that you can play all 250 some games in a season ? confused.

If you control every team, yes. Which means adding another character to your CCM by choosing an existing GM for every team.

                  I believe that is correct.

Re: Before I start my 32-team franchise...

I'm Interested in the pros and cons of controlling all 32 teams as well. The reason why I'd want control of the other teams is so that unrealistic releases don't happen due to a salary cap. For example Manning being released and signing with another team or something stupid like that. However if I turn off salary caps and just make sure the team I control stays within the salary cap will there still be unrealistic releases of players since the other teams won't have a cap. Also if they don't have a cap and I'm gunning for someone in free agency will I just be outbid but other teams because they don't have a cap. Or would it be easier to control all one teams and have semi control of all other 31 teams and let me resign a few free agent players I don't see being released and let the CPU control the rest of the team.... Thoughts!?!

Well the main reason I want to do a 32-team control CCM is because of all the unrealistic moves/releases. But one big reason is the draft. Year after year after year, I see teams draft a position they don't need. For example, I started a CCM with my Texans. The 49ers drafted QBs in the first round... THREE YEARS IN A ROW. It was so pointless because at the time of the drafts, Kaepernick was rated among the best in the league. I understand depth, but three straight years?

I'll admit I'm very OCD about rosters too. It drives me CRAZY when year in and year out after starting multiple CCMs, the Broncos always release Knowshon Moreno, who is their best-rated RB with Monte Ball quite a ways down at the 2nd best. It's unrealistic, and it itches at me. So when controlling all teams, I can make realistic moves by trade, release, draft, AND free agency. Though it's a lot of work, I feel it's worth it in the end.

After the Super Bowl when EA releases the end-of-year rosters without any injuries, I'm making a super roster. It's going to be near 100% accurate with tons of rating adjustments. I'll start my CCM after the roster is done.

I'm waiting on the final update as well and than I'm gonna start my game with the Patriots. I agree with ya on the computer AI. It sucks when it comes team building. Guess I'm gonna have to control draft, and resigning players and free agency for all 32 which can be very time consuming but worth it in the end.

Exactly. Just gotta stick to it to give yourself a better experience. I tested the 32-team control method in previous Madden games. I found myself extremely excited from year-to-year because I could build the teams the way I wanted to. I could rebuild an older team and build them from the ground up. And since I'm controlling everything, the weaker teams began to grow through the draft. I remember one CCM I did on the last Madden game where the Jags became a top team for years, winning multiple Division championships while teams like the Patriots struggled since they were filled with veterans whom retired. It was fun though and I can't wait to start it on my PS4 after the roster update.

Is there anything I should worry about besides stupid CPU moves? For example current bugs in the game like wind going in the wrong direction, players not advancing in progression, draft classes sucking or anything like that in the offline ccm.
