Player's Story (optional): Leon Daniels's career has been one of rise and further rise. Unrecruited out of high school, Daniels attended a JUCO school in order to continue to fight for a scholarship at a D1 school. Eventually Duquesne offered him a scholarship after he had lead Northwest Florida to a runner up championship year in the NJCAA after his sophomore season. In his first season as a Duke, Daniels inspired the team to make the NIT averaging 18.6 ppg and 3.2 apg. Leon was offered transfer opportunities to bigger school but felt more at home as a Duke. He appeared to have made the right decision, though, as in his senior year he lead the Dukes to their first A10 championship and NCAA tournament appearance since 1977.
Daniels averaged 24.8 (second in the NCAA) ppg 2.8 apg and 1.2 spg in his senior year.
