Any way to get high motor trait with an OLB?

So I just acquired Aldon Smith in a shrewd trade with the 9ers but I noticed that he doesn't have the high motor trait. Unfortunately I also noticed that I couldn't find the trait to upgrade it for him. I suppose LBs HAVE this trait but can't upgrade it.

Question 1: how in the heck does Smith not have high motor?!?

Question 2: is there any way around this?

    Thanks in advance.

Because Aldon Smith doesn't have a high motor. He goes all out sometimes, but as a 49er fan, I see him quit on plays sometimes.

Adding to this thread, if you ever want a CB or FS to get high motor, move them to SS in the offseason and you can purchase it.

Yup, in the offseason of my fantasy draft right now.

Discovered Janoris Jenkins did not have high motor by accident when I moved him to SS and got it.

Was worried when I moved him to FS and didn't see it available to buy when I knew I had seen it but it was there at SS.

Good to know you can move someone to DE to get the high motor trait, I'll check if anyone needs it.

If you want big hitter on your DL you have to move them to LB and if you want pass rushing moves on MLBs you have to move them to OLB

Speaking of position changes, I have a problem. In the offseason, I can't make those moves (for example, OLB to DE; CB to SS or FS; RB to WR and such). I can only move ROLB to LOLB and vice versa. Same with LE to RE and vice versa.

                What's the problem?
                New York Yankees
                Green Bay Packers
                San Antonio Spurs

Strange, I won the Superbowl, started the offseason and could do it, now I'm in "stage 7" of the offseason and still doing it

Thank you all for your help. This information was very useful and now I can feel good about giving him that 6 year 88 million dollar extension.

And to the Niners fan I am going to take your word for it as I don't watch all their games like you do. Just seemed odd that a guy rated 99 in my scheme would not have a high motor.

He was a situational pass rusher as a rookie if I remember.

Or maybe they held his off field issues against him, dont know if he had any before the season.

                      That's nothing though.

Just now after my first season I'm able to give Big Hitter to Ndamukong Suh.

Who has 97 hit power and is one of the actual biggest hitters in the whole league.

Meanwhile a lot of no name backups on my team (fantasy draft) already have it

A post from this thread could help people, helped me today slog through the positio nchanges in the offseason

                        http://www.operationsports.com/forum...-question.html

"Oh God yes it takes forever... Couple tricks in the offseason..

During the resigning period trade for young players with expiring contracts and resign them for dirt cheap to long term deals. These will be the guys you spend time on building for the next six years for pennies.. Or just sign some guys in FA that are cheap and fit your scheme.

                        Save some XP
                        1. Move CBs to SS to upgrade their tackle/hit power, way cheaper.
                        2. Move FS/SS to CB to upgrade man/zone way cheaper.
                        3. Move DT/DE to OLB to upgrade power/finesse/strength.(have to move DTs to DE then OLB)
                        4. Move RB/TE to FB to upgrade RB/PB
                        5. Move RB/FB to TE to upgrade catching/route running/release. (Have to move RB to FB then to TE)
(Never move to RB/FB/TE to WR... WR cant be changed)

Also when drafting or signing players look for players based with high skills n low IQ.. U can find guys for dirt cheap that have great speed/strength/agility but very low awareness. Although very tedious is way cheaper to build a guys IQ up than it is to build a guys speed up.

One last trick is that when u have players that rarely play get injured, put them on IR and sign or trade for another player. Your injured player still gets XP from games/practices as well so u essentially get extra players to build up for trades or replacing your own free agents.

Oh never draft a FB, always draft a late round running back and move him over to FB b4 u start ur season. Much easier to add RB/PB to a converted FB than it is to add speed/catching to a drafted FB."

Just found what I was doing wrong. Apparently, you can only do it in the offseason but from the stages 1 to the one of the draft, not in preseason heh.

How to high motor for a HB in offseason, it's not available for him.
