When we did play, I used to wonder what player I played most like. There wasn't one player that was really ME.
Lamarcus Aldridge might be the closest, but He's a pretty one dimentional player from what I've seen. He does a right hook, or a turn around (to his right) fade away. His fade is why I think of him. I was always the tallest of my friends, so I played in the post, and my fade was DEADLY. I would turn both ways though. I also didn't just do two moves, but a variety, up and unders, fades both sides, plain turn around shots, jump hooks (not left though).
I also had a decent face up game. I could hit the jump shot, or fake and drive. The midrange shot was cake for me. I was also a strong 3 point shooter. So in that sense, I think Dirk or Love. I was a strong rebounder, not a great passer, not a GREAT ball handler. I could get steals and blocks, but I liked more positional defense instead. I was a more fundamental player than flashy.
So, I guess those three, maybe along with Timmy Duncan would be the ones I think of.
How about you?
