Re: EA Sports UFC Hands-On Impressions
"Blocking engages EA Sports UFC's countering system, which is similar to the one in Fight Night. A well-timed avoidance of an attack will give you a split-second window during which your opponent has to recover from missing the attack, and if you can hit them at that time, the attack will deal more damage than usual. Being able to take advantage of counterattack windows requires an additional level of skill that players of traditional fighting games, like Street Fighter, will already be familiar with."
Bye EA, you guys are morons. That can (and has) singlehandedly make your games unplayable for MANY people looking for a simulation experience.
I can't believe they think this is a good idea (still).Comment

The freeze frame in Fight Night was terrible. But if the window is executed like EA MMA, we might have a winner.Last edited by ManiacMatt1782; 02-10-2014, 03:15 PM.Comment

I'd love to say that I need to see more (specifically game play) before making a buying decision. But, who would I be kidding?

Now I do hope if you are winging non stop hooks and power shots you are suceptible to being taken down especially by great wrestlers lime GSP Hendricks Rashad Jones Cain etc. It was way too easy to stuff a takedown in EAMMA while just swinging with wreckless abandon.Comment

Not getting hype til I see the game in motion. After all these years, people still getting hyped over EA trailers. Movement still look stiff like Fight Night from what I could see.Comment

Re: EA Sports UFC Trailer, Fighting and Submission Details Revealed
A couple of other things the video confirmed:
Multiple arenas: The MGM (you can see the MGM logo on the railings when Evans is entering the Octagon) was already confirmed but there is at least one other. The arena that Jones does his cartwheel in is significantly different than the arena Liddell and Pettis are in. Not surprised that this is the case but good to see it in the game anyway.
Randy Couture is one of the fighters in the Hayes background. Randy being in the game would maybe indicate that there will be a number of classic/hall of fame fighters in the game (Mark Coleman is also in the background). Couture is interesting though. He has a deal with EA so EA wouldnt have an issue with using him in the game but would the UFC allow it since he is on the outs with Dana right now?Comment

Between this, the screenshots they've already released and the cover vote they've released a total of 36 fighters so far (by my count). Which means if there's nearly 100 fighters in the game, over a third of them have already been announced. My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Re: EA Sports UFC Trailer, Fighting and Submission Details Revealed
They better have a Pride Mode with Pride arena with Pride fighters in their prime in the game. So I hope EA took that idea from THQ.Comment

Re: EA Sports UFC Trailer, Fighting and Submission Details Revealed
Doubtful. Less than a 100 fighters in this game so I doubt that any Pride fighters are in the game. Plus I'm not sure if I even want them. I'd rather the game focus on UFC fighters of today.Comment
