Being able to edit the rosters and coaches of this game has really opened things up for me.
While it is cool to have new rosters or HOF ones the biggest change for me is in coaching.
I've changed each team's playbook to ensure everyone uses a good one.
I've updated run pass splits to balance the game more.
These changes helped a little but it wasn't everything.
I've messed around with coach ratings for quite some time now and feel I have found "the switch".
I believe it was byron, or algoody, or a different alias mentioned "the god switch" in finding a great set of sliders. While I love these sliders, personally I feel this switch has a much greater impact on gameplay.
I've drastically improved the coaching staffs.
I've provided table showing the average skill points spent per coach for relevant positions. Meaning, I would show the amount of skill points a QB coach spent on learning, development, and physical for QBs only + chemistry, performance, strategy, and play call. For an OC it includes all offensive positions. A head coach has all positions report to him. I excluded special teams from the comparison. Also I excluded special skills as they can't be edited and are the same in the default roster or mine.

A create a coach gets 50K points to start off a career.
In the default roster the average coach is ~ 30K ahead of you in skill points
Just by playing the games you'll earn about twice the amount of XP than a CPU coach
At 2000 total points per game you'd catch the average coach in about 2 seasons
My roster set increases this gap to nearly 100K, meaning you'd have to play about 6.5 seasons to become an average head coach
The Colts have the best coaching staff in the league in the default roster. If you took the default Colts staff and inserted them into my roster they'd be ranked 26!
Indy is the only default team that has a coaching staff better than any of the staffs in my file.
Typically people complain about the game getting too easy after years of developing your coach. I assure you it will be much more difficult with this roster set and a create a coach. Imagine playing nearly every game against a team with coaching staff better than Indys.
The roster set i attached is the one i am using in my dynasty (see signature)
It is a HOF roster set, I could easily make a 2014 version or default roster version if so requested.
I highly suggest testing out a franchise with it. It will change the way you play the game.
