Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

I recently noticed that I have the "A Great Showman" label in my player career. I think it comes from having really high ball control (92) and dribbling (88), even though I don't use skill moves very much in my player career.

Has anyone else seen this label?

Who is your top scorer so far? Assist? Would love to see the formation you are running. I personally love Watford as well, not sure why other than the fact I had my BAP/BAL play for them at one point in his career - and really enjoyed reading up about Vicarage Road and the traditions of the club.
Yup, I sit in 13th and am about to hopefully kickstart a comeback, as I'm just about to play a game against bottom-table Bournemouth.

I was ravaged by injuries and suspensions as my simmed watford played a 5-2-1-2.

For the new calendar year and hopefully comeback, I'll be rolling this 4-2-2-2 (keep in mind that Troy Deeney and Gabriele Angella are still out for now)-

        GK- Almunia (69)
        RB - Cassetti (69)
        CB - Ekstrand (72)
        CB - Belkalem (69)
        LB - Anya (66)
        RDM - Iriney (74)
        LDM - Murray (64)
        RAM - Abdi (73)
        LAM - Pudil (70)
        ST - Faraoni (74)
        ST - Fabbrini (74)

As you can see, my front four are very solid, among the best in the Championship. My defence is god-awful though.

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

          Team: Orlando City (3 Star)
          League: MLS (Chili Petrogas)
Difficulty: Goniras Sliders, Legendary, 15 Min Halfs, All Man, No Sim
Objective: Make A Run For The Playoffs
          Record: 7/2/1 2nd Place 1pt Back

Here is a quick backdrop. Added 18 teams from MLS to Chile League, kept Chivas & San Jose in MLS, added Orlando City to Chile.

Added the top Chili teams into the Columbian league, replacing lower level sides to MLS.

Wanted to Create the best set up for the South American Champions Cup and include MLS sides.

3 teams from MLS, 3 from Columbia, 4 from Brasil, 4 from Argentina, 2 from Mexico

          Mid-season Apertura Update
After 10 rounds of the 17 round Apertura tournament, we sit in 2nd place. We are just 1 point back of 1st place and firmly embedded into a playoff spot. The only team we lost to was Toronto in round 9 2-1 on the road, Defoe worked some magic late. Other then that game, we drew our first two then won 7 straight before losing. Followed it up with a 2-1 win over Philly.

          Goals & Assist
Mbengue & Adryan lead team with 4 a piece, 3 go to Martial & Marvias....
Assist wise, Brazilian sensation Adryan is tied for league lead with 4 assist, as well as tied for leading team in goals. Great player.

          Upcoming Matches
          vs Montreal
          @ Sporting KC
          vs Portland
          @ Colorado
          vs Seattle
          @ New England
          vs Fire

The final stretch of 7 games will determine 1 of 3 things, if we win the league, make the playoffs, or miss the playoffs. In our current run of form we are going to aim high, for 19 out of a possible 21 points, and if we do that, hopefully we can pass DC United who is undefeated and 1 point ahead.

Alright. Moved Crystal Palace to the MLS (really regretting it now, but too deep in to re-start) thinking that they couldn't compete in the BPL.

the MLS is boring, you could put all the BPL teams in, and it would still be boring lol, league set up is flawed and lack of cups.

                      Team: Derby County
                      League: Championship
                      Season: 13-14
                      Halves/Difficulty: 15 minutes/World Class/All-Manual

                      End of Season Table
                      1. QPR - 103 points
                      2. Derby County - 94 points
                      3. Wigan Athletic - 91 points
                      4. Bolton - 84 points (Won promotion playoff)
                      5. Brighton & Hove - 81 points
                      6. Nottingham Forest - 77 points

                      December/January Update
When I last posted, I was sitting in fourth and the team was in good form. December proved to be a large task, with game's against QPR (1st), Watford (8th), Reading (5th), and Wigan Athletic (4th). I came out of those games, 2-1-1, with the loss to Wigan on a stupid pass late in the game. Motivated, I needed to infuse the team with cash. I used my reserves to start my youth system in October, so when Southampton came calling for Paul Coutts in order to strengthen their squad at the Premier League level, I hustled them for 2.5 million which I promptly turned into wages. I brought in three players.
Adnan Januzaj (who was sitting the bench at United) on loan
Sunil Chhetri (as a third striker) from the free agents
Sam Hutchinson (Sign on contract) for next season.
I loaned out Bamford and Bennett, both going to be future stars but were having trouble getting time with Russell and Martin ahead of them. I sent Lee Grant on his way after he moaned about playing time the entire month of December (He made four starts in the first 20 games).

Feeling pretty good about the squad, our run of form was nothing I have ever seen. I simmed a bit, but played every third game as we handled all of the games we were supposed to and challenged the other team's in the top six.

                      Cup Progress - League Cup
                      2nd Round - Nottingham Forest - W 2-1
                      3rd Round - Chelsea - L 1-2

                      Cup Progress - FA Cup
                      3rd Round - Cardiff City L 0-2

Summary: Derby are back in the Premier League, but the team isn't ready for this level yet. I have glaring issues in the back. I'll update with some transfer news and how we perform in our opener against Liverpool.

                      Top Goal Scorers:
                      Johnny Russell - 19 goals, 13 assists
                      Craig Bryson - 12, 9 assists goals
                      Jamie Ward - 17 goals, 4 assists
                      Will Hughes - 11 goals, 5 assists

                      Other Champions: 2013
Champions Cup: Chelsea over AC Milan 1-0
Euro League: Valencia over Bayer 04, 1-0
                      Premier League: Manchester City
                      Ligue 1: Saint Etienne
                      Bundesliga: FC Bayern
                      Serie A: AC Milan
                      La Liga: FC Barcelona

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

I posted a bit about my Leyton Orient manager CM a few dozen pages back in this thread, but after 8 seasons I achieved all that I set out to accomplish and decided to start a new CM.

I chose the club I support, Portland Timbers, for my next CM challenge, but with a unique twist. Everyone knows that playing in the MLS sucks on FIFA14, so I moved 6-7 teams from each of the MLS, Liga MX, and Liga do Brasil into Liga Adelante. Only Barc B and Real Madrid Castilla were spared from the purge.

I made all the transfers for the MLS teams in the league, with exception of Julio Cesar going to Toronto. For anyone starting a lower tier team CM I suggest going after Fernandez and Nagbe on the Portland squad. They're slight players, but still really good with the ball. I also made a few deals during the initial transfer period.

                          Out:
                          ST - Ryan Johnson - Sporting KC - $715K
GK - Milos Kocic - some Russian team - $240K
                          ST - Kris Boyd - Kilmarinock FC - $925K
RB - Jack Jewsbury (January window) - FC Lorient - $350K

                          In:
GK - Ruben Blanco - Loan with $300K option
RB - Hector Bellerin - Loan with $200K option
CAM - Marcos Lopes - Loan with $800K option
LB - Gaya (January window) - Loan with $500K option

                          Current Roster (4-2-3-1):

                          GK - Ruben Blanco - 65

I am starting my first career mode today after buying FIFA 14 in January. I am doing Everton this time, they have a good young team and are capable of making champions League if we just win the right games and in the January window or the season after we qualify for Europe, the team just needs to buy a few center pieces and you got a golden team. By the way I did no summer window and also made first season European competition.
