Re: MLB 14 The Show Fact Sheet (PS Vita, PS3, PS4)
1. Lefties as infielders. I like the concept except I have a concern. Because SCEA creations are randomly produced and this is an option, as our franchises and RTTS seasons advance, we're eventually going to see a plethora of left handed infielders, where in baseball today, it's as rare as rare can be. I mean there's a reason why we don't see it. It's a clear disadvantage. Except for first basemen of course, where I see it as a true advantage. This may be a little OCD of me but I'd prefer to see the league progress in a very real manner...
I'm glad to see that baserunning has changed (though we'll have to see if it's for the better). But no mention of ball physics is disappointing. There's a pretty big issue with groundballs down the line in 13 that really should get fixed.Comment

Unbelievable fact sheet but correct me if I'm wrong: there is still nothing said about stats being saved to go back to from the prior season...example...wanting to know how many stolen bases someone had the previous season...etc. the stats on the player cards have always been limited.Comment

I think this is meant more for CAPs or other left handers that are specifically and purposefully placed at 2B-3BComment

I saw that base running was changed, I'd have to see that in action, because I honestly thought the classic BR option was the best. But also, after they changed the ball physics for 12, i thought it was great. I dont see why they have to address ball physics again.....Comment

Just because it was not mentioned on the fact sheet does not mean it was not worked on. Ball Physics have been on the sheet 2 years in a row. They are always looking at that stuff.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Fact Sheet (PS Vita, PS3, PS4)
Really, really excited for the additions. Almost everything I've ever asked for is now included in the game, assuming nothing of importance is being taken out. That's the mark of a fantastic development team.
Three things that I didn't see:
1. Advanced statistics. More GM's are using stats like WAR, BABIP (hitters and pitchers), xFIP, FIP, UzR, etc. I hope that at some point in the future, we can get these added. As a stats guy, I cringe when I see things like fielding percentage and W/L being used without advanced stuff to mesh with it.
2. Trade finder. I see a player search option, so I suppose it is possible it's included in there somewhere. Having a trade finder streamlines the whole process, and makes things a little more dynamic.
3. No option to hide player ratings. I've never been optimistic about this one, but I would LOVE to see it someday. For me, baseball is all about the eyeball test and analyzing a players statistics. I would love to be able to go off of those two measures one day instead of having player ratings.
Anyway, great work SCEA! It's going to be a long two months.Writer for Operation Sports

Re: MLB 14 The Show Fact Sheet (PS Vita, PS3, PS4)
Cool, hopefully it is indeed worked on. The two main issues are the groundballs not tailing into foul territory when hit down the line, which has made getting doubles on those balls pretty much impossible. The other issue is the 10 feet high foul popups that go straight up.Comment

Great list of improvements.
The only things missing that I hoped for, at least on the PS4, were rainouts and double headers. But great stuff here none the less. Anxious to read the development blogs. The Signature of New YorkComment

I know that this maybe a weird thing to wish for, but I was hoping for the ability to change your minor league affiliations in Franchise Mode. The fact sheet looks great though and I will most likely be pre-ordering.Comment

Probably. But if they could develop an option to turn it off/on, I would assume it wouldn't be such a big deal. Who knows, it is probably not something that will happen anytime soon. But it would be great.Writer for Operation Sports
