Re: OS Roundtable: If You Could Add One Feature To Madden...
i forget which madden it was but does anyone remember when you had to pass a drill with the player you were scouting. why cant we get something like that where you can actually see the player and how he moves and plays. and that was in like 2005Comment

http://www.nfl.com/standings
See... This actually happened this year. Green Bay finished 8-7-1 over the 8-8-0 Bears. GB has a .531 winning % and the Bears have .500, as you can see in the official NFL standings I linked.
8.5/16 = 0.53125
And
8/16 = 0.500
Clearly, EA does not include the .5 win when calculating %.
I don't know where you went to school, but you should get your money back.
Charter is right, and as I said.. the 8-7-1 team should finish above the 8-8-0 team. EA should fix this.Last edited by kpkpkp; 02-18-2014, 11:32 AM.Comment

Re: OS Roundtable: If You Could Add One Feature To Madden...
Yeah, I tried tweeting them at the beginning of the year when I saw it was wrong yet again this year. (Was wrong in Madden 13 too)
I tweeted AJ Dombrowski, the main EA Twitter, and the Madden Twitter. But none of them respond to me unless I say something positive.
I also emailed a few EA employee's directly since I happen to have a few emails. I also emailed their regular CS Dept.
I also posted it in their forums bug/glitch thread. I have literally done everything I can possibly think of to communicate this to them. Yet path after patch, year after year, it is still wrong.
Mostly I get no response, or a canned "we'll look into it."
My concern is that they dismiss my complaints because they incorrectly think they're right. Kind of like ManiacMatt a few posts above, who shot back how I am wrong, without apparently looking at real standings or looking into the correct formula. I think EA probably reacts in the same way... "nope, wins mean wins and that's that! A tie counting as .5 of a win? Pish-posh!"
I'm not sure how other sports calculate ties, but in the NFL ties account for .5 of a win. Fact.
That's the problem. I honesty think they think they're right. Or they literally never read their own forums/twitter accounts.
So I maintain my original point... My wish is for Madden to use correct basic math.
(Or for the wind arrow to point in the right direction. But I don't want to get selfish)Comment

Custom packages and substitutions pre game need to be returned to Madden.Comment

I want that we can upload franchise teams from prior madden games into the most current madden game- for instance, I have a raider's team on year 9 franchise in Madden 25- I want to be able to upload that team and also have all the nfl records that we got -
Another want is just cosmetics- I want to be able to add tattoos, scars, beards, and dreadlocks to created players-Comment

Completely editable CPU AI and rosters.
For rosters I want to be able to edit EVERYTHING from race, to skin tone, to left hand or right to body type, height and weight.
For CPU AI, I want to be able to edit the CPU coaches mindset. From what plays they call on down and distance to who their primary WR is and how often they look to give that guy the ball. Also edit the ratio of pass and run, edit the ratio of blitzes, how often they run zone or man coverages.
Give me a fully EDITABLE game like Madden USE TO BE like years ago.
I want a QB AI building tool....with dozens of parameters.
An example of a parameter would be FIRST READ, which sets a minimum time threshold the QB stares down his first read if not open before he goes to either 2nd read, scramble, or check down, depending on how those parameters are enabled.
How quickly the QB can decide if first read is open would be another parameter, which can also be modified by the read defense parameter. Lots of parameters with dependent contingencies so that the community could craft AI routines of every NFL QB is my dream.Comment

Each QB could transition (scan field) faster than others for the likes of a Tom Brady or Peyton Manning as opposed to a Terrell Pryor type player. If you threw the ball to soon before he scanned over to see where he was throwing then you see more errant throws and balls in the dirt. It would add realism if playing as a LB or Free Safety against another user in reading the QB's eyes. But on the flip side a user who is good on the sticks could lock into a WR purposely to throw the defense off knowing he wants to attack a different area of the field. And let the chess match be on! This could be tied to a QB's awareness rating.
Maybe this feature could also have a toggle on or off option so if you don't want to use it then you do't have to.
IDK, just an idea...Basketball Playbooks

This might be a dumb idea, but what if the user had the ability before the snap to focus on 1 particular receiver that he chooses pre snap. You could change this pre snap as well while at the LOS. When the ball is hiked the QB is looking dead on and locked into that receiver he chose pre snap. If he wanted to pass to the opposite side of the field he would have to hit the receivers button to scan over to him then hit the button again to throw it...

True but just eliminate the vision cone visual aspect of it. I liked some aspects of the vision cone but I remembered that being operated by moving the stick right or left and not the double button press no? It's been awhile so I forget.Basketball Playbooks

That was the only way I ever used it, never just freely moved the vision cone.Comment

How else could you even try and simulate a true to life passing game with realism for QB's awareness?Basketball Playbooks

Re: OS Roundtable: If You Could Add One Feature To Madden...
I would like to see a some sort of combine instead of the point system for scouting. Even if it's just drill times or results. For example maybe a instead of having to unlock deep ball accuracy for a qb you get an x/10 or 20. Even NCAA football had bench and 40 times. That would make it more realistic because nfl teams don't have point systems for scouting guysComment
