Re: MLB 14 The Show Screenshots (PS4)
Wow! The textures truly set it off! In all honesty, what do you guys think the likelihood of getting these texture upgrades before the May launch date? I will definitely be keeping my fingers crossed for this upgrade!Colorado Rockies - 2007 NL ChampsComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Screenshots (PS4)
Realistically I would imagine it would be possible to put those textures into the game by May. I think it makes the players look that much more Next Gen. However, even though I'm all for having those textures on the player models, it is kind of a pointless effect since you will never see them unless of a cut scene or replay that shows the player up close. With normal gameplay you never would see those textures since the camera will be too far away or the players back would be turned towards you.Last edited by ryanmc564; 02-18-2014, 04:33 PM.Comment

You'd know its not exactly pointless.Comment

Thanks for showing me that thread, I'm not a basketball fan whatsoever so I would have never visited that thread, and now I wish I didn't because those player models look awesome!!! so freaking life like!! now I'm jealous that the shows players model don't have that quality to them, no disrespect toward SCEA I'm positive their game will play better but those basketball player models are just too good looking. what can I say I'm a graphics whore. If you've seen this thread -- http://www.operationsports.com/forum...xt-gen-25.html

Edit: But I'm not worried about The Shows player models for this year, within 3 years I bet The Show will look so good on the ps4 that it will be hard to tell the difference between the game and real lifeLast edited by ryanmc564; 02-18-2014, 04:32 PM.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Screenshots (PS4)
lol, it's kinda funny that even on the PS4 build that was re-created from SCRATCH that they still included the GIANT sweat stains on the caps, which in real life are specifically designed with materials to wick and not show sweat.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Screenshots (PS4)
Not entirely true I've seen plenty of ball players who especially wear red hats that are stained by sweat that leaves white sweat marks all over the hat.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Screenshots (PS4)
The problem with the sweet stains are that they are permanent in MLB 13. From inning one through nine. Rain or sun. The sweat is always there.
It's gross. And distracting. Really hoping this gets fixed in 14.Comment

Nope it's staying the same.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Screenshots (PS4)
One thing that I have a question about is the CAPs, will they be just as detailed as the "real" MLB player models or a scaled down version? (We know the MLB player models that have beards will be hand drawn, so I suspect the beards will be different but will the overall detail be different?)

LOL! The stamp is pretty funny.
But I'm not sure why people are liking a post about leaving what amounts as a glitch in the game?
Of course, my sarcasm detector needs new batteries, so perhaps Ramone was joking? I guess we'll see soon enough!Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Screenshots (PS4)
They obviously wear sweaty caps themselves, isn't it obvious?

Re: MLB 14 The Show Screenshots (PS4)
Sweaty hats are obviously a part of the game. Sweat-stained hats is number 7 on Bleacher Report's "Ten Worst Looks in Major League Baseball" list. Since it is part of the game, I am guessing that is why SCEA chooses to show the sweat on hats.
MLB and its cap manufacturer, New Era, say the new fabric is designed to "wick" away sweat and evaporate it while reducing the stains, odor, shrinkage and fading that come with wool. - USAToday.com
Key words, "reducing" not eliminating. That's why the sweat stains on the hats do not bother me. To add some realism, the hats could gradually become more saturated with sweat throughout the game (as someone else already suggested), but I don't see a need to do away with sweaty hats all together.Colorado Rockies - 2007 NL ChampsComment
