Hello everyone this is the official thread for the NBA History Roster I plan to create a 100+ Team Retro Roster that will feature the 100(in my mind) Best NBA Teams ever!!!!!!!!This list the most Iconic teams of NBA's 67 Year Career this roster will also feature some of the most iconic players of All-Time as well ranging from a Post dominate George Mikan to a more quiet Steve Nash also with teams starting from the 46-47 Stags to the 12-13 Spurs so any team that is was ever a good NBA could be in this roster now that you understand what this roster is all about I want to talk about the Team Selection Process the team selection was very easy basically I just picked the most suggested teams and I picked either a really good team or a team that had a really good player so not a really hard selection process now the second thing I want to talk about is the Team Replacement sadly since there are 104 possible team slots I will not be able to do what the original 2K12 Ultimate Base Roster did by adding tons of retro teams and still updated the current teams roster unless there is a way to unlock more slots I will not have current teams in the Team Selection Menu the 3rd thing I want to talk about is Roster Quality and as you all know NO team will be perfect but I will try my best at making everything as realistic and accurate as possible this really sucks because I am a very in depth at every thing I do one of my ideas was putting classic jerseys on the teams like 2010-11 Miami Heat for ex:if they wore a classic jersey that season that jersey will be available for use pretty cool right? also the last thing I want to talk about is the NBA Challenge game mode where you will try to re-write NBA History by playing signature games from each era of the NBA which is 40/50's,60's,70's,80's,90's,00's and one game from 2013 there will be 5 games per era with the exeption of the 2013 game which is the Game 6 of the 2013 finals Spurs vs the Heat which would be called something like "Old Dogs dont need new tricks" and the goal would be to win the 2013 Championship for more info read the tabs below!!!!!I also want to inform you about my season mods which I will upload every week(ONLY FOR 2K13)I will start at 1986-87(Since theres already a 86-87 Roster which will be my base)but I will go up from there until I get to 2010!!!!!!!HOPE YOU ENJOY

Arena Edits

I will add real arena names for every arena that had a fake name given to them for example "Lakers would be Los Angeles Arena" but now has a correct name and is now named "The Great Western Forum"
I did this for my ALL the retro teams that came with the game I also did this this for the 5 Additional added retro teams.

Jersey Edits

As I stated earlier correct Home and Away were hard to get for teams without their classic jerseys available but hopefully every will have something close to their correct jerseys

Player Edits

I will edit every Retro Team on the game along with my 5 additions for every single retro team on the game I edited each players Height and Weight I also added real player info and switched some positions I also added portraits to some of the player for example "I gave Shaq's 95 Magic Portrait to the 98 Los Angeles Lakers Shaq"

Fake Legend Player Edits

As all of you know NBA 2K14 included some "fake aka as mkharsh calls them filler players" on the ends of the bench for all of the retro teams I will go and edit the "Filler Players" with the correct players for each fake bench player I used basketball-reference.com to add accurate player who were left off the team for each fake player I Changed the names to the accurate ones,Changed numbers to accurate ones,Changed positions to accurate ones,Changed Ht/Wt to accurate ones,Added portraits for those available.

Every coach will be updated with accurate grades and experience i know most coaches were not available for use so i tried to find the VERY BEST Look-a-Likes possible the only thing bad is that the playbooks are not correct the the 5 added teams but dont worry like i said this is Playground Edition its pretty much a DEMO for you to determine whether you like or dis-like it

Progress Report:Im back to editing missing school tomorrow so that means more editing hopefully i can get the 5 team demo out by not this thursday but next thursday i know 5 teams it should be quick but i am going to due a 90's-Pack for the demo that will include *FULLY Edited Legend Teams with Added Portraits,Accessories,a few Sig-Shots,& a couple of custom ratings i also will include 5 -NEW- 90's Teams

I would like for OSers to give this Roster a chance. I have talked VIA PM with Marcus and he is VERY enthusiastic about Roster Editing. We NEED Younger guys(Too many OLD guys, like myself, LOL) to make rosters. I have suggested he make a SMALL DEMO for Testing to get feedback. I have also told him this is a MASSIVE Project, that will take time and he WILL need help. So maybe the DEMO will attract him some help.

Thanks Vt hopefully those words & the advice you gave me (about making a small demo) will attract some people to help & to also attract people to give me feedback (hopefully good feedback) because i really want this roster to attract people & hopefully if they like the roster ill make more retro rosters year-by-year!!!!!!!!!!

Having attempted (and subsequently abandoned) a similar undertaking in 2K12, I hope this works out for you. I had some more teams from the forties such as the Sheboygan redskins, Oshkosh allstars, Chicago Staggs, and phillips Oil 66'ers. It was tough to get the (cpu vs cpu) to play anything remotely like that era is described, but I feel as though there may be more potential with the 2K14 engine. Unfortunately, I lack the time to contribute on the editing but if you need any info up to 1973, let me know, I have a fair amount of material and notes.

Actually i plan on making a slider & rules pack for all of the different era's of my roster i think i can manage the slider pack but the rules pack will be a CHALLENGE!!!could you maybe inform me the rules of the 50's,60's,& the 70's i know a bit of the NBA Rules of those era's but not many also thanks for supporting me & giving me a chance (also if you do ever want to help or if u get time to help could you help me with player tendencies & sig shots)

This is just my opinion, and obviously you should do whatever you want with your roster, but I believe that including teams from the 40s, 50s, and even 60s is something of a waste.

I'm probably older than you are, and trust me, I have a full appreciation for the history of this sport and plenty of respect for the players. But I have never played a roster on any NBA2k game with teams representing those eras where the gameplay was anything remotely reminiscent of realistic. To be honest, I don't even think playing with the 70s team is all that fun. The game is just played too differently.

Personally, I think a roster like this is a great idea, but I would focus more on teams from the 80s, 90s, and 00s. At least you can more accurately represent them and the way they played.
