Re: Poke It Real Good: A Wyoming Cowboys Dynasty (NCAA '14)
The Big 12 really took a hit here. Losing Texas, Oklahoma, Okie State, TCU, and friends for the likes of UAB, ODU, LA Tech, TCU, and a pupu platter of weak to near-mediocre teams hurts this conference's prestige.
It may be the weakest conference so far (no, it IS definitely the weakest), but at least it's not boring and should be uber competitive. The Cougs, Warriors, and Rams have a little Pacific/West Coast thing going on and it should be interesting the see if the Horned Frogs and Gophers can make their mark against weaker programs.
In the Big 12 East, well, let's just remove the 12, ok? lol
It appears that part of ye olde Big East Conference has arisen from the ashes. Pitt, Louisville, BC, and WVA are all very familiar with one another. The Mountaineers and Monarchs are also regional rivals, sort of. And of course, how could this division be complete without a firebreathing dragon? The UAB Blazers will play the underdog role.
There really isn't any zest to any of the possible conference championship game matchups either...all of these teams are pretty foreign to one another. I suppose a TCU-Louisville game might have some lukewarm national appeal....?
