PS4 or Xbox One?????

I sold my 360 and PS3 over a year ago, as I didn't have time to play. The machines were just sitting around collecting dust.
Now, I really miss gaming. Though I've always been fortunate to be able to have both an Xbox and PS since the originals, I don't want to waste money having two machines.

Whatever console I decide on, I want to have it for the life of this generation (as I had Xbox & PS2 from day one until the new consoles were released ... then had PS3 & 360 from launch day until I sold them).

Could some people give me their opinion on what machine I should go with and WHY. I would greatly appreciate any and all advice.

Below is what is important to me:

- Console to be reliable. I do not want to worry about 'red rings of death' like I did with my 360 (luckily I never had the problem).
- FIFA, NBA 2K, Madden are what I play 99.9% of the time ... maybe a racing game or a shooter (like Call of Duty), once in a blue-moon. Exclusives are not important.
- I'm very big on having accurate ROSTERS for NBA 2K & Madden from the great roster-creators on this site.
- Big fan of high end graphics and solid framerates.
- I very very rarely play online. Love to play Franchises.
- Every room has a blu-ray player and AppleTV, so I can't see me or my family using any apps nor steaming or playing movies / TV on the machine.
- Don't care about voice commands or a camera. If its there, fine, if not don't care. IMO, thats what phones, iPads and computers are for.

From my list, it seems I should go with the PS4. But, my main concern is console reliability and quality created sports rosters down the road.

From the little bit of research I've done, it seems at the moment the PS4 has many more people creating rosters, and the quality of those rosters are great. Though, last generation the Xbox had better created rosters and more to choose from. Obviously this could change over time.

If in the end, people are splitting hairs between which console is better, fine. But, if people see a big difference down the road between the consoles (and those issues correlate with what is important to me), I want to have made the smart decision.
Fortunately an extra $100 or so is not a big deal in my decision, so $ is not a factor.

I know you said money isn't a factor, but I'd still save the $100 and get the PS4. I'd guess that FIFA, NBA2K, and Madden will look largely the same on both consoles so you're good there. It's still too early to speak to the reliability, but there don't appear to be any immediate widespread concerns for either console.

I would think more rosters would be available on PS4 this time around, purely because more people are buying the PS4 right now; but there's always going to be good rosters on both systems.

In the end, these systems are pretty similar for what you want; so I'd go with the cheaper one.

I have had the PS4 since launch and I have been most satisfied and then some even as of today.

This coming from a King of all Flip Floppers "ME" haven't even touched an Xbox One and for most people who know me here that's a great feet for me..LOL

Anyway, to some it up I love the PS4.

Based off what you said PS4 is the only logical choice. Most everyone is there so you get your rosters. At this time multiplats do look better. You dont play online, well with the PS4 you can still use the consoles features without PS Plus where with the X1 just about everything is tied to gold. But I recommend PS plus for the free games. This is coming from someone who has had both since launch. I probably play a little more on X1 at this time but no doubt PS4 is the best bang for your buck.

The PS4 is releasing games in1080p while the XBox One is releasing in 720 or 900p


Every game so far that has been released on both systems has looked better on PS4 because of this. The PS4 is simply a more powerful machine. It's also cheaper and has an entire sport to itself (baseball with The Show). And you mention that you like sports games. Even if you don't really like baseball, The Show is a blast and the best sports game available. It helped get me back into baseball a few years ago after I had gone almost a decade ignoring it.

Please click on my name, go to my arena and read my blog on which system you should get based upon how you game. It does sound though as if the PS4 is likely the best machine for you but that's a decision you'll have to make for yourself...
