Re: MLB The Show 14 for Vita

Ps4 has remote play so I probably won't even buy a copy for vita. I can get all my roster work done on the vita and then play on the PS4 or vice versa.

Re: MLB The Show 14 for Vita

I'm thinking about getting a Vita pretty soon, and I'm glad I'll have a couple bundles to choose from. An MLB 14 The Show bundle would've been perfect, but The Walking Dead and Borderlands 2 aren't too shabby by any means.

I haven't played The Show nearly as much as I'd like the past couple years, and I think having a Vita will change that big time. I'll be able to play before bed, at work, etc. I'm hoping to log some serious hours on this game this year.

The only thing that worries me about remote playing The Show using Vita is the latency. Even the slightest delay throws me off when it comes to hitting (can't stand going to a friends house whose TV has an AV delay) For most games this isn't an issue, but for something that requires as much precise timing as The Show may justify an extra purchase for me. I would use cloud saves to play my RTTS and Franchise between the two consoles (assuming that feature will be carried over to PS4)

I would say the same thing but I can't use the Remote Play when I am not at home so I will probably get both versions.

New to the Vita, and will be new to The Show as well... Are in game saves available? Meaning if I'm trying to squeeze in 9 innings over the lunch hour, and I need to shut it off middle of the 6th, will I be able to pick up where I left off?

Yes, there are in-game saves in Franchise and Season modes.

Yes they are. You can't however resume your in game save from the vita on the ps3 ( pretty sure I heard that somewhere on these forums before). I did save one of my games in the 4th inning and was able to pick up where I left off later on.

Re: MLB The Show 14 for Vita

I'm a newbie when it comes to the Vita, but any help with these questions would be appreciated:

                      1) Does the Vita version transfer to the PS4 version, as in game saves, etc.? I could start a season on Vita, and move it to PS4 later?

                      2) I guess for someone unfamiliar with what the Vita is capable of, aside from being a second controller it seems, why would I get it as well as two copies of the game? I'm all for it, I just want to know the specifics as to what I can and cannot do.

                      3) How is the gameplay on Vita compared to PS3 even? Is it dumbed down? Features missing? Is baseball playable on a small screen, or can you route it to your TV?

                      4) Which Vita is the best? Do they all have 3G and WiFi?

                      5) I'll Google this one, but just in case anyone else is curious...does the Vita version come up April 1 or May 6?

Thanks! Someone sell me a Vita!

For this year, it seems that is the case. Would not work if you bought MLB 13 for Vita and MLB 14 for PS4, though. It all starts with MLB 14.

                        2) I guess for someone unfamiliar with what the Vita is capable of, aside from being a second controller it seems, why would I get it as well as two copies of the game? I'm all for it, I just want to know the specifics as to what I can and cannot do.
I'm not so sure that it can act as a second controller. I too don't know the specifics of what the Vita can do with the PS4, but I think they're trying to do a lot more than remote play with PSNow and Vita TV coming out soon.

                        3) How is the gameplay on Vita compared to PS3 even? Is it dumbed down? Features missing? Is baseball playable on a small screen, or can you route it to your TV?
Every so often, I feel like I hit better on Vita. Then suddenly I start striking out more too lol. There isn't really any difference in the gameplay, it's all the same. Even sliders translate over just fine. I can't create a custom camera though so I do the best that I can, and the framerate is not 60 FPS (probably at 30 FPS).

They really try and remove cut scenes and such, but it's essentially the same game. Graphics take a hit, of course. I get most of my franchise and RTTS gaming done on the Vita though.

                        4) Which Vita is the best? Do they all have 3G and WiFi?
I'll let somebody else answer which Vita is the best (especially since they have a new model coming out now that is smaller but has an LCD screen instead of an OLED). They all have WiFi, but there is a 3G model. I don't think there is much you can take advantage of with the 3G model (no remote play though 3G, for instance) and there are bundles that you can find with the WiFi model as well.

                        5) I'll Google this one, but just in case anyone else is curious...does the Vita version come up April 1 or May 6?
I believe it's coming out April 1st. Wow, I just realized how close that is! Next week!

                          1) Does the Vita version transfer to the PS4 version, as in game saves, etc.? I could start a season on Vita, and move it to PS4 later?

I know you can transfer from Vita to PS3 so I don't see why you couldn't transfer to PS4. I believe I read somewhere you can transfer between all 3 systems.

                          2) I guess for someone unfamiliar with what the Vita is capable of, aside from being a second controller it seems, why would I get it as well as two copies of the game? I'm all for it, I just want to know the specifics as to what I can and cannot do.

I use the Vita to play on beaks at work and I don't have the 3G Vita so I have to play at work and then transfer at home. Hope that helps.

                          3) How is the gameplay on Vita compared to PS3 even? Is it dumbed down? Features missing? Is baseball playable on a small screen, or can you route it to your TV?

I wouldn't say it's dumbed down but it does lack some of the presentation that the console versions have. However when I had it for the Vita and PS3 I primarily played on the Vita.

                          4) Which Vita is the best? Do they all have 3G and WiFi?

I have the WiFi version of the Vita and it works fine for me I don't need to connect to internet outside of house. Just my preference though.

                          5) I'll Google this one, but just in case anyone else is curious...does the Vita version come up April 1 or May 6?

                          April 1 for the Vita

                          Hope this help

1: I think one of the SECA guys said yes but I cannot be sure.

2: It has full features of the PS3 version except for DD and the full commentary. It's a really solid piece of hardware. With a PS4 though you gain full remote play over LAN so while at home you can boot up the PS4 version and play somewhere else.

3: Perfect honestly, the 30 FPS makes timing a bit harder but I think it's easier to see the ball on the Vita

4: Do they even sell the 3G anymore? Wifi is the only one woth getting.

5: April 1st can tell you that.

Thanks, guys! I thought the 3G was the newest one as it had both 3G and WiFi? I'm likely wrong?!?

Next question now is, who is selling the best bundle in-store?

So wow...it sucks I can't play DD on Vita, but it sounds like once the PS4 version comes out, I'll be able to play DD via my Vita?

                              Thanks!

                                Here's another one:

With remote play, if I have Madden and FIFA for PS4, do I need to buy them for Vita for it to work via remote play, or will the PS4 "host" the game?

If I DON'T need the game for Vita, what's the point in ever buying them? I guess for if you don't have Internet access?

                                Thanks!
