Wait, really? That is really surprising to hear.

Edit: I just realized that I guess it may be the easiest way to handle it since there are no early counts. Every QC adds a lot of pitches, no chance to get a 1-pitch out.

I'm guessing this is because quick counts don't generate 0-0 counts so that's where the inflation comes frome. In real life, players do make first pitch outs.

          Yep....that's my guess as well.
I know people will say it's unrealistic to discount pitches...but as Grenngld stated.....we are missing out on some first pitch outs.
It's probably not as many as as getting discounted...but I guess there has to be some concessions.

Plus.....as long as the pitcher fatigue matches the pitch count displayed...that's what really matters.

A bit odd....but so are gen counts!

Wow so the pitch count shown in actuality is not the case plus commentary doesn't line up with the at bat either hmm ... Will the pitch count be the real pitch count in regular mode ?

I'd have to hear the commentary more, but how off is it? I didn't really pay attention to it watching the video.

???Then why is Carpenter first AB at 5 pitches in a 3-2 count, ball hit into play is 6 pitches and Peralta stepping in at 2-1 is 9, so the 8 pitches minus 1 per batter makes sense there.

Double bingo. The pitchers will hit their normal fatigue level for the stamina rating per player. In essence guys will hit the normal I/GS more often than not with QC.

I'm guessing they subtract it from the total pitch count when an at bat starts, then the QC adds to that? Nothing to subtract from on the first AB maybe.

Wait, so its that they never mention the count at all? I'm trying to watch the video again and figure out the issue.

So you'll be losing 27 per pitcher(s)(TEAM)...per game.

Think of it this way....if a pitcher(team) threw 3 or 4 first pitch outs(which you cannot get with QC's.....) in a game(IRL).....that in QC games resulted in 5+ pitch AB's(not unheard of with foul balls and such)...that's possibly a minimum of 15-20 pitches and possibly much more.
