I am wondering if NBA live Game play is better thatn 2k14

Because I am thinking about getting the game. My questions are

1. Are defensive rotations good off of double teams.
2. How good is the Help Defense ?
3.Do they call charges automatically when a player spam the paint and run into the defenders?

defensive rotations are good. this is one of the areas where live does a great job. both in rotations and spacing.

help defense is pretty solid as well.

there are a realistic amount of charges called in the paint. that being said they are usually drawn by the cpu (either on my own team or on the opposing team).

one thing i will warn is that post defense is incredibly difficult. the cpu likes to go to the post far too often (seems to be a tendency issue) and it kind of breaks the immersion. oftentimes you will see the cpu score 60-70+ points in the paint.

Ok Thank you, I wanted to make sure because 2K Sports looks like it is going down the wrong path with their customers. I think NBA Live is going to be awesome this year.

To the OP, I would suggest skimming through the last 5 or so pages of the impressions thread.....gives you a pretty good picture of Lives gameplay....good and bad.

maybe a little lol. its a lot easier to paint a picture of my issues with 2k. i guess im more frustrated by the legacy issues than anything else. it might just be that i play my career 95% of the time and its much easier to see the same flaws when you only control one person.

my biggest gripe with live is how relentlessly the cpu attacks the post coupled with the near impossible post defense. i havent played it at all in over a month.

Post d isn't that difficult. Defending that one baseline spin move is near impossible. But defending other moves actually isnt that hard

2k has brought me back to playing live and I couldn't be anymore happier! I honestly don't think ppl understand how good This game is.

I agree with your post. I think 2k sports is going down wrong road by not listening to consumers and not changing their Game Servers.

2k has brought me back to playing live and I couldn't be anymore happier! I honestly don't think ppl understand how good This game is.

Enough with the nonsense already... I have both games and although the other game has its issues, it has one redeeming factor: gameplay wise it's not a broken game.

Live 14 has:

- piss poor production value (yes it has ESPN presentation, which is great but that's IT)
- a short list of animations that is flatout unacceptable in this day and age and new gen era
- BROKEN gameplay (horrible input lag, crazy glitches, that-spin-move-in-the-post-finisher-move, ridiculous free throw mechanics and on and on and on)

Of course you're entitled to enjoying the game (I love dipping in on Ultimate Team once in a while), but please don't try to tell people how 'good' this game actually is, cause that's a lie, period.

The boys at EA have a foundation now, but they have their work cut out for them and I think october will be here very, very soon for them...

I had both . LIVE does not play that well. I tried before the patch and after. It did get slightly better after the patch. I would wait for live 15. But... If you play it and you like it... That's your opinion and nothings wrong with that.

That doesn't change the fact this is not a good game by any stretch of the imagination. You think the button lag for instance is acceptable? In 2014?
Then there's no point in discussing this any longer. I'd just tell you to raise your standards for the company that deserves your hard earned cash.

Input lag is unacceptable, I agree, however, this game is more enjoyable for me. I agree with the other guys. I've played 2k for the last few years and it was time to switch it up. I keep my expectations low this year for Live and so far it's far and away my most played game on the PS4.

I don't think he said his opinion was nonsense? He came back with his own opinion about how he feels about the game and I agree with him. I joked with my friend the other day, if you're just playing with the menus and features of the game, NBA Live is great...once you get into a game it's terrible.

I think he was more just attacking his claim that people don't realize how good Live is when that's an opinion too...
